Awful. DO NOT BUY. They are too dense for roots to penetrate. I had a variety of leafy greens, herbs, and fruiting vegetables growing in these for about 6 weeks, and all the leafy greens and herbs stayed about 1 inch tall. My jalapeno plant was the only plant that managed to get through the sponge and establish healthy roots. Once I switched to other peat cubes, my new plants took off immediately.

These plugs work well for seed starting. They absorb and hold the right amount of water to begin sprouting seeds quickly. I like the ease of using these and think the size is good for establishing a plant meant for transplant. My one criticism is the price. At over $22 for 50 at the time of writing this, it is a bit expensive.

Note: I ordered these with the intentions of using them like normal sponges.... smh.. My mistake. Anyways...These sponges are ok. They are just smaller/thinner than any I have ever had. Keep in mind, I am very new to even using sponges, that said, I have already moved on to making my own with coco coir after trying a bunch of sponges and also realizing the price differences... While sponges are much easier, faster, etc. I find that even just stuffing coco coir in some grow pods just gives me better results even though it is more work. Also very messy, lol.Keep in mind, these sponges seem to be intended for hydroponic growing, so I would assume the size is due to that. All in all, they are as described other than the difference in size. Now, my beef with this product is the price. As over 20 bucks for a pack of 50, I can get a few bricks of compressed coco coir and fill way more than 50 pods possibly with leftovers depending on how aggressive I compress it.And honestly, the is my main beef with sponges, they cost too much when I can just buy some coco coir, or heck, even peat moss, sterilize it and be good to go. Heck at the price, for a few more bucks I can go get the bigger bag of peat moss, smh.So, would I recommend these? Only if you need them. And even then, I would tell you to shop for better deals... But if so, yeah, they seem fine from what I can tell. Otherwise, I say make your own...

No matter how much i rinse theres always foam and its got faint castile soap secent. Its gets too big when its soaked so i cant use the net cups. It was just sotting in the slots by itself and the olants took forever to sprout. Still its easy to use, built well, and cant beat the price. But it functions well in my hydroponic glass jars.

This is a very good product. Simply soak in water for five minutes, then plant your seeds or use it for cloning. I use these for hydroponics and haven’t noticed any more dust than with other growing mediums that i currently use.I also appreciate that they’re made from peat, making them a natural and eco-friendly option. They work well, are easy to use, and arrived quickly. Overall, a great choice for seed starting or cloning!

I always start seeds in plugs, peat plugs are SO good compared to soil starting, it's easier to transplant them, they pop at a higher rate, they have better moisture control, the list is endless, it's so worth it to just use plugs. These ones are really good, I had a very easy time popping these babies with a simple repurposed plastic packaging as a humidity dome, now all my little sprouts are in their own pots!

Wow these arrived super fast! They came in a flat box which they fit perfectly in too. So far I am really pleased with them as they feel more natural than another brand I tried. They come dry and hard but quickly/easily absorb water becoming very flexible but did not fall apart. They are by far more reasonably priced than what I’ve gotten before and I like that they come dry so if they work well for starting my seeds I’ll be getting some more for sure.
