I used it to replace an old style bracket with ball bearing and its a bolt on replace and the crank screws well made.

I think that the majority of the bikes out there are made for this part.Like a universal ,fits all part.Not really any preload on the bearings since they are sealed type bearings.Maybe just snug up the side collar bolts and tighten up the ring nut.Maybe even put a little blue loctite on the threads to keep them from loosening up.
