If l’d written this review a year ago, I would have given it 5 stars. But, as the rivets holding the handle to the plate have popped loose after less than hard use…it gets 3 stars.

Crappy construction..... Handle fell off after a few months.... Rivets suck.... Useless without handle... Will need to spend more money on a quality product....

This thing works awesome for keeping your bacon flat while you’re trying to cook it. It also works as a good burger press on your Blackstone flat grill. It has really nice weight to it and it’s pretty big so if you love to cook like I do you better buy it.

Because I use it for as a pan crêpe press, because it has some weight to it, and I'm not putting pressure on the handle I can see it may last some many years, but I can also see why this is breaking for some people, if using it as a burger press the heat plus force on it is breaking the thin metal holding one of 4 which is holding it on the heavy plate. If you press this down overheat and twist whatever, I can see this breaking one day.I can tell you that the handle gets warm, and the longer you have it over the food burger or pancakes it will get hot eventually, this is a bad mechanic, handle should be made out of something else and the seal on the plate should be welded completely together, or have thick plates curving in between the plates from the top to hold it in place. For what I use it for, it's 4/5 I gently lift it up and place on my 9-inch crêpe pan, because this product is 8.7inches it covers the whole inside the pan and is perfect to hold crêpes onto the heat for 1 minute, and it comes out all properly cooked. Before I used to use the spatula and press down onto the pancakes/crêpes, and now I don't I just leave it on for 1 minute, and it's thoroughly cooked that side to perfection. I dread the day if this ever breaks from me being EVEN really delicate with it.A tip is to wait for it to cool down completely first before washing it, if you mix cold water with hot, you're going to break a steel thermal shock against those pins holding it together. It might not come out or break first time doing that thermal shock business, but eventually it will erode into the pins, and it will break 100% guaranteed, it just depends on when yours will break.

I had been wanting a stainless bacon press that had a little weight. I had 2 cast irons pressed but hated them, because they were so hard to clean. As soon as I got that they went into the trash. Perfect size.

I know this was intented to press burgers, but I make panini with it and they turn out awesome. Try it on bacon too. The stainless steel body is ideal to keep germ-free, it can be washed with soap and water (unlike wrought iron), and it does not take up a lot of space in the cupboard. I'd higly recommend it as a replacement for wrought iron weights.

So far I've only used this with bacon, but it is heavy enough you don't need to press down on it. I'm sure it would be fine for making smash burgers, I just don't have a flat top grill. Dishwasher safe, too, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. Worth the price!

This is not all bumpy and hard to wash like the cast-iron ones and not as heavy. It’s heavy enough to make a good bacon press. Love the stainless steel and ease of cleaning. Highly recommend!!
