I bought this to cook veggies, shrimps, scallops, etc. on a table-top grill at my vacation home. I needed something that was smaller than most grilling baskets so it could fit on my tabletop grill, but also deeper so it could hold a little more. This basket is perfect when cooking for 2 or 3 people, but the size is marginal if you're cooking just veggies for 4 people. I spray it with some cooking oil before use and wash it thoroughly with an abrasive scrubber after each use. It performs to expectations.Note that this is my 3rd similar basket, just different size and shape, so I went by previous experience. Before I even used this basket for cooking, I used my electric hand sander to smooth out any sharp edges that you would normally touch when handling the basket. I also sanded across the bottom-side/outside perforated surfaces that seemed sharp and would tear up cleaning pads. It's impossible to measure how much it actually helped, but it felt noticeably smoother and less likely to cause issues I've experienced with previous baskets.

So far, its sturdy and solid. I wait till I fire up the grill. I will not be using the basket for vegetables etc, but to contain my charcoal briquets.
