I installed this along side my diesel heater, it is a perfect fit for 2012 t5.1 couldn't of got one better

Worked well with my Velit gas heater (with about a 1.5” insulated composite (foam/plywood) floor thickness). This turret gave me plenty of room for routing the fuel line, and exhaust/intake hoses, and I appreciated the fairly large diameter. 5” hole saw off Amazon also did the trick for installation in my van.

I bought this to use with my Espar Airtronic gasoline heater by Heasto, in my van build. The depth of the turret was perfect as I had a layer of foam board and OSB board on my floor in addition to the metal of the floor itself. The heater fits perfectly, it's kind of expensive, but worth it! I used a drill and jigsaw to cut the hole for it in the floor. :)

The one they sent me had an exhaust hole and an intake hole inside of the turret. The intake hole was drilled in the wrong spot. Hard to drill another hole without a center so I had to take a jigsaw and cut out part of the steel so the heater would fit the turret. Also the paint was chipping off the turret in spots (not due to the jigsaw but rather some of the paint was not sticking to the metal). I had to chip off the loose paint and feather down to bare metal on the top and the part that is exposed to the road (I had to sand for the jigsaw cut anyways) and then prime. So much for the nice paint job. If I want it to look nice I have to go buy some glossy spray paint before I install it. Needless to say this all cost me extra time and extra money.

The one that cam with the diesel heater was flimsy and of a cheap, poor standard so I bought this one to replace it. It was expensive but much better engineered and the quality was far superior.

Item turned up seems fair enough quality however clearly not stainless steel as described a magnet clings to this clearly it’s just powder coated steel…
