I got this as an addition to other strainers, as it is a finer mesh but also because it sits flat. It can be used for anything, but I got it to strain bone broth I make. Very sturdy, easy to clean and priced right.

I purchased this to replace my old one. I prefer the mesh type so this was perfect. Not flimsy and is good size if you need to use with a bowl.

Not long after having it, one of the handles fell off. No bending or tearing, just a clean break. Shortly after, the other handle followed in the same way. Other than that, it works great.

As another reviewer pointed out, the handles are spot welded and his let go after a month, so I don't know if mine will. I'm including the photo he posted. I've only used mine a couple of times so I can't tell how well it will hold up but so far I really like it. As for cleaning, I have a high pressure pulse spray in my sink sprayer which blasts any food out making it easy to clean, but it's like any other strainer. For the price I think it's worth trying out.UPDATE: After 8 months it's still holding up. Very nice!
