I recently refurbished my basement stairwell and used this stair tread template tool—The tool made it effortless to accurately capture the length of each tread and the exact end angles, even in my uneven staircase. Its sturdy, adjustable design ensured precise measurements every time, saving me hours of guesswork and frustration. Highly recommend for DIYers and pros alike!

The operation is simple and the measurement is accurate. It can quickly confirm whether the tread depth meets the standard, avoiding the trouble of rework later. The workers also said that professional tools make the acceptance process more efficient. It is a great value for money purchase!

I already have a beautiful, handmade stair tread tool. It is made from maple and it has served me well. But it has come close to messing me up a couple of times. The ends that meet the wall on each end are 3/4” thick. This may not seem to be a big deal and most of the time, it isn’t. What has happened is the wall itself was not even and being so thick, the top of the guide was flush, where I could see it, but there was a gap at one end of the bottom of the guide. It could result in an end of a new tread being cut at the wrong angle to set flush against the wall or sideboard. Once I realized this, I was much more cautious but, on some jobs, it slowed me down.I saw this with metal ends and thought, I is about time that I had something like this.I was very pleased when it arrived. It came with a fabric case that looks much like the one for my cue stick. Nice.In use, this does exactly what I need. I modified my handmade stair tool to measure the risers. I used ends that are the same thickness as the risers, so the front of the cut board will meet perfectly so it still has a needed function.I gave this tool 5 stars and wonder why I didn’t get one earlier. I ended up with TWO new tools that really speeds things up.

This item is crap. I thought it sounded like a good idea for my first stair tread replacement. I tried to use it but the pieces can very easily move, to get the right cut you have to position the tool exactly on the wood which sounds easy but isn’t. You’re better off with straight cuts.So this company is an honorable company and has since made things right with me. Although, I don’t like this product, I do like this seller and would be happy to buy other products from them.

Nice, compact case. All materials were well packed within to protect from bending /damage. 16, 12, and 8 inch sections + the ends and all hardware. Hash marks appear to be laser cut and are very nice & accurate with good contrast in white. Hardware pieces are easy to put together; very nice quality aluminum sections without flaws.Great for measuring built in shelf cuts when the walls are not equidistant right angles (always!). This kit is not too expensive and worth getting professional results without guessing /measuring hassle for shelves, stair treads, and laminate flooring.

Made of good-quality aluminum with a red anodized finish. This can be used for stair treads as designed, but it's also great for measuring angles (such as that corner of your room that is supposed to be 90 degrees, but it's not, and you need to cut flooring to match). The carrying case is excellent so that every part has it's home (less likely to leave a piece behind) and is rather sleek looking.

The red-gray color scheme is a nice touch, making it easy to spot in the workshop.

Happened across this and decided to pick it up as I have a fair amount of flooring to lay down, which includes a sieable set of stairs. This didn't come with any instructions but think I've got it figured out as it isn't a very complex assembly. The one thing I did sort out, which makes it much more rigid, is to place the screws through one hole and one slotted section as then you have two points clamping down on a given section. It was easy enough to extend it and adjust the end template parts to fit tightly against the wall and stair rail. This should make knocking out the treads much quicker and accurate. Good find and really happy it came with a decent case to store it in.
