I installed this in a 1999 k2500 suburban. It was a real booger to get in, but not because of this part but because of the way the GM cast the block. Once in, it read oil pressure just fine.

The oil pressure gauge in my 03 Sonoma 4 cyl (94,000 miles) began reading abnormally high while driving at highway speeds. Purchased this sender at 2/3 of the price at my local OReilly store. Easy replacement through passenger side wheel wheel. Works perfectly, no leaks.

Warning Up Front - Make sure you buy and use an oil pressure switch socket or you will probably end up buying several of these. Yes, you can get the old one off and the new one on without one, but a $5 socket is worth the saved headache (and scratched up hands).I bought a used S10 as a beater truck for my farm. The oil gauge would vibrate and jump around like crazy when the engine was running, but it didn't seem to affect much. After doing a major engine and front end overhaul and trying to narrow down a small oil leak that was dripping onto the exhaust, after reassembling everything I noticed the oil pressure gauge was completely dead. Why GM chooses to design and build crucial engine components out of cheap plastic I will never understand, but the old gauge was snapped almost entirely off. Once I got the old one off and replaced, the oil gauge started responding again and the needle movement is much more stable. Definitely a quick and easy troubleshooting step if you are having oil gauge or oil pressure issues.

I thought this was my problem, so i changed this part out. I guess this was not my problem, still having the same problem.

Thread bottoms out before it achieves a sufficiently tight fitting. I had to add more teflon tape to achieve good fit.
