My old unit was leaking a bit so I thought it would be a simple project to remove the old and put in the new. Ordered the replacement for my 2011 Corolla. It looked very similar to the old one. I was able to hand tighten it about 3/4 of the way and was thinking how easy and smoothly everything was going. I then took the socket and ratchet to finish it and after a turn or 2 it got very tight and difficult to turn. Then I heard a cracking noise. Uh oh. Pulled the new one out, put the old one in, hooked it up and started the engine. Oil shot everywhere from around that unit. Thought I needed a new engine but my mechanic friend said it needed a new plate or cover instead. Time consuming to replace but less expensive. Be damn sure what your getting is what you need.

This sensor worked for my 98 V6 toyota tacoma. My original sensor needed a 27mm wrench to remove and this one needs a 24mm to install.

Inexpensive and works perfectly but did require slightly different socket than the stock oil pressure switch.
