These telescoping forks are a little more flimsy than I was hoping for. They work fine for marshmallows but I won’t be using them for hot dogs.Which is disappointing since I was hoping to be able to use the same tool for more than one purpose. Also thinking about it, post purchase, it would be nice if all of the handles were different colors to help identify who’s is who’s. 2 of the forks share the same handle color.

I love these telescoping stainless steel forks. They are perfect for roasting marshmallows which we do very often. These are by far my favorite because they fit in my kitchen drawer. Other roasting sticks are long and difficult to store. They have a nice handle that is rubbery with a non skid feel. This makes them easy to hold and they don’t get hot. They have a nice length that allow the kids to roast marshmallows safely. They have plastic pieces that fit over the prongs which make them safer for transporting. I like the colors so the kids can keep up with their sticks. I have no complaints and am very impressed with the quality. I recommend them highly.

We have used these several times for marshmallows but I think they may be better situated for hot dogs. The marshmallows fit on one side but the spread is so wide. You can't get It's speared on the two prongs at one time. It ends up that one marshmallow just rolls around the one side you can stick it in and when it gets really hot sometimes almost falls off.As far as the telecoping action, that's pretty good. I like that it comes a little carry in case which makes it easy to store and they were not terrible to clean. We have a fire pit on our back deck so we've used these a few times now. I do wish they telescope to just a tiny bit further, but, for a small fire I think they're very appropriate. The handle keeps you from touching anything that could be hot, which is important when you've got little ones like I do.Overall, I'd have to say these would be perfect for larger items, but even the giant marshmallows only fit on one side.

We go camping 4-6 times a year so we get a lot of use out of our marshmallow sticks. We go with a couple families each year and seem to lose a couple of stick each time we go and we have had to order more sticks over the years to replace some of the sticks. Our first set was those thin telescoping ones with the wooden handle. Those worked but were a tad on the flimsy side. Our
was similar to this one.Like our second set, this has a thicker telescoping poles that adds sturdiness with thicker and beveled tines that help hold on to hot dogs better. These also have nice grips that feel good in the hand and are comfortable to hold. Though this set looks similar it the sticks aren't exactly the same. Compared to our second set this set of sticks are a bit shorter. Our second set was longer, 45" total, that allows for kids to stay a little further away from the fire. This set reaches only 34" which works but I prefer the sticks from our second set because the kids can stand a bit further away from the fire.Overall I recommend these sticks over the cheaper telescoping ones with the thin tines. When compared to our second set that were longer, these are comparable in quality. However, our second set was cheaper and they were longer too. So while these sticks work and do what they need to do, there are cheaper/longer options.Review For:Stansport Stainless Steel Telescoping Forks - 5 Pack

My family are avid hikers, campers, and wilderness backpackers. S'mores and hot dogs over fires are an American tradition. Skewers (or cleaned branches) are necessary, but telescoping forks makes things a bit more convenient in a number of ways:1. Take up little space2. Can grill one or two hot dogs (or one large one) at once3. Easy to cleanCurrently priced at $15 (or $3 each fork), they make for great value.

This is a nice set of five telescoping forks, to use while camping or around an outdoor fire pit as so many of us have at home these days. They curve just a bit with a weighty object on the end, like a hot dog, but I'm not sure that's an issue in that the alternative would be that these would be fairly heavy themselves. They are plenty sturdy. The rubberized handle is nice both for controlling heat exchange and to get a better grip.Note: These are unceremoniously packaged in a padded envelope, so not in ideal form for gift giving, so you might need your own box (or gift bag!) if that's the plan.

I’ve always loved sitting around a campfire. And what goes along with that is roasting marshmallows or hot dogs. My Grandkids have taken a liking to this pastime as well. So I wanted to get something to make the task easier rather than having them look for branches. (It protects my trees as well.). So I came across this set of telescoping forks on Amazon and figured they were worth a try.The forks come in a 5-pack…just enough for each of the kids. And they have nice long silicone handles which not only make them easy to hold but will help prevent the kids from getting burned when the metal gets hot.But the best thing about these forks is the telescoping feature. The forks extend to nearly a yard when at full length. And when closed up are not even a foot. That makes them super easy to store. The construction of the forks seems decent…I mean the kids haven’t broken any of them yet. But the metal does seem a bit thin, and the forks are a bit wobbly when fully extended. There are little caps on the tines to prevent anyone from getting stabbed when the forks aren’t being used. The caps are super small. They fit snugly, but I still can see them getting lost.I like these telescoping forks. They’re great for marshmallows and hot dogs but also for putting Christmas lights on a taller bush…another use I discovered. It was a good purchase.
