I live south of Seattle. Spending my winter in Quartzsite, AZ. I-10 has a speed limit in a lot of sections or 75 mph. So two years ago down in QTZ, I find myself doing 75 or more at which my engine temperature went into the red! I took my truck to my Radiator guy in Tacoma, WA. I told him the situation and asked if it could be the thermostat? He said no, it's the Radiator. He installed a new radiator. It worked great . . . doing Washington's 55 & 60 mph. Back in Quartzsite, the temp went back into the red! This time I ordered a new thermostat from Amazon and I installed it. Now, the temperature goes up from just to the left of center to on the center mark. Even at extended speeds above 80mph, temp never goes past the center mark. Moral of this story, never trust a business. They just want your money. The Radiator guy and I will have words when I get back home.Up date: thermostat worked great for about 50 miles. I took it out and put into water on the stove. At 212° (water boiling) the thermostat did not open! I just installed a new NAPA Thermostat. Hope this is better

No aplica al motor HEMI 5.7 en la versión mexicana. Es más pequeño.

Seriously could not be happier. I have a 06 5.9 Cummins. My engine temps have dropped 30°. I recently replaced my water pump with the 7 vein 6.7 water pump. My temps went from 218° to 227°. I have always ran hotter I thought because of my tune. I have replaced my thermostat at least a dozen times. After I had several Mishimoto with issues I went with the generic Autozone, Oreiley thermostats. I ended up with a 180° Napa thermostat that seem to do the trick for the longest time. It wasn’t until I put this Stant thermostat in that I realized even the Napa one was not working correctly. My engine temp hasn’t gotten above 197° and usually runs around 190°. I haven’t towed with it yet but I’d imagine I won’t have any issues.

Outstanding! I had tried 3 different thermostats from the auto parts stores. Each one failed within a month. I tried this Stant thermostat in my 2006 Ram 2500 and it works faultlessly. In this case it pays to spend a dollar or two more and get a name brand. Awesome job Stant.

When towing with my truck, I noticed that I'd quickly outdo the coolant system if I was towing heavy or against a headwind for some time. I installed this and at first wasn't too thrilled. This thermostat actually opened at 185 degrees at first and didn't show a lot of promise. However, on a recent trip where I towed heavy for about 40 hrs in less than a week, this thing definitely made a big difference. I had already installed the updated water pump from the newer trucks and the entire trip, the highest temp I saw was 210. This was a huge improvement over the 220+ I could easily reach if I pushed the truck before, especially since it was in Kansas, up a grade, with a headwind.
