can you use this on outdoor live Xmas trees?
YES. but The battery case is not waterproof but Copper wire lights are rainproof,so we suggest that when you use outside, please give some protection of the battery case.
Direction for use？
Take out the spring and install it to the pentagram tree topper lights,use 3ps 1.5V AA battery and install,turn on the power button and the lights will be on. Then install it on the top of the Christmas trees.

This rattan tree topper star is a nice size and feels like it’s made from good-quality materials. It has a natural, rustic charm that looks great on the tree. However, it’s really tricky to get it to stay in place securely—I ended up having to use zip ties, which wasn’t ideal.My biggest issue is the battery pack—it runs on a cheap pack that requires 4 AA batteries, which I didn’t realize when I bought it. That’s on me for not reading the description carefully, but it’s still disappointing, as I was hoping for a plug-in or more modern power option. I would return it, but with Christmas so close, finding something else is too much hassle. It’s okay overall, but not quite what I was expecting.

Beautiful topper, but I didn't realize this doesn't plug in. Batteries dimmed and died quickly. I left it turned off.... not ideal.

Love this star! Its great, love the look of it, more rustic and exactly the look I wanted. Mine did not come with a remote, but it works great and is very easy to use.

It's almost pretty - until you turn it on. Some of the lights are burnt out, and they are not well distributed - all kind of just clumped in the middle. Pretty sure I could do better myself with some sticks and a cheap set of fairly lights.
