This works amazing. I love it more than the similar, different brand, one that wore out on me.

This product makes opening cans a breeze. We've tried so many different types and brands, and this one hands down is the best one we've purchased.Don't waste money going to buy fancy ones, and just get this one. Super easy to use and works like a charm.

It’s quite stiff as you turn the handle. It doesn't necessarily feel different or click when the full turn is completed and sometimes the lid is still held on by just a bit and you have to twist it off. I will be looking for a new one. Hoping to find the one I previously had.

Simple to use. I'm not expecting this mostly plastic devise to last a long time. It is perfect for removing the can's top safely. It is a good product. I do wish it was more durably crafted.

I had bought one before and then I liked it so much I bought another. It is easy to use and much more comfortable to use then regular can openers.

This is the best manual can opener I have ever had! Once the top comes off, the edges are sharp but they are with regular can openers. I highly recommend.

The method of use is very special and will not rust like other can opener blades. The cut is smooth and will not scratch the skin. Be sure to take a minute to read the instructional pictures, great invention.

I used to rely on an electric can opener, but it was slow and often struggled to align properly, making it difficult to open cans. This manual can opener, however, has completely solved my problem. It works so smoothly that even when I feel like I haven’t aligned it perfectly, the can is already opened effortlessly.

One of the best I have used so far. The ergonomic design makes it easy to grip and turn, even for prolonged use. It opens cans smoothly and effortlessly, with no jagged edges left behind.

A few months ago, my two-handed Starfrit can opener died. I had purchased it in the early 90s, so I couldn't complain about not getting good use from it. With that in mind, I read through the descriptions of too many can openers before settling on this one-handed model by Starfrit.I confess I still have a one-handed can opener from Europe, a cranky geriatric affair made of metal and saved for just-in-case situations. Even at 50, It can still splutter its way through a tin if it has to. Based on my experience when we were both younger, I decided to see how well a one-handed model by Starfrit--a model that was on sale!--would fare. The answer is: very well. The opener attaches easily to the can, and the grip is large, stable and easy to turn. Once you have made the circuit around the can, all you have to do is turn counter-clockwise to detach the opener. It is easy to clean the surface of the cutting wheel, which is important, since contaminated residue on the mechanism causes many cases of domestic food poisoning each year.Despite its virtues, I don't know if my new Starfrit ,will survive as long as the old one, however. The quality of the plastic is different. No longer rubbery, it seems more brittle, and possibly more vulnerable to breakage, should it fall from the dish-rack to the kitchen floor one time too many. When I washed it recently, I was surprised to see water dripping from the open seam that runs along the handle. I made a mental note to clean the handle with a dishcloth in future, while subjecting the head to more rigorous cleaning.Compared to its predecessor, this one-handed model removes the top more cleanly, with no jagged edges. That's an important improvement! All in all, a good product, even if I am a little skeptical of the material. Yes, Virgina, one-handed can openers are a thing and they can in fact work really well, like this one.

Lo amé. Bonito diseño, no deja orillas filosas, fácil de usar. Los abrelatas que había en el súper eran caros y sin estética

We had an electric opener for years, but it was faded and yellowed, and I wanted something less obtrusive, quieter for midnight souping, and reliably human-powered. This is IT.The first thing I noticed (or didn't notice) was that it doesn't have a discernible blade. Nothing sharp. Nothing that penetrates the can and makes contact with food. Almost nothing to spread contamination or even require cleanup.Put it on top of the can and start turning. It aligns itself as you go - just get it in the ballpark. I can't say it is "easy" to turn, but the handle and crank are large enough that it isn't "hard" either. No more demanding than a good regular manual twist opener, although the orientation of the twist (horizontal instead of vertical) may pose a different challenge for those with dexterity limitations or finger/hand/wrist pain. Cannot be operated with one hand without modification of the crank and handle system. You'll notice it gets suddenly easier after you've circumnavigated the lid. Disengage the opener with a little reverse twist and voila! Nothing happened! WTF?Look closer and you'll see that the rim has been split, just enough to cut the outside of the crimp that held the lid to the cylinder. Use the little jaw and opposing button on the side of the opener to bite the lip, and lever the lid off completely and suspiciously easily. Every edge is smooth, and the insides and outsides never meet. Messy lid and fingers never meet either. You can even put the lid back on, if you're being attacked by zombies or better food (other reasons escape me). It's really quite brilliant once you get past the operational novelty.I had trouble with a tall salmon can once. Not sure why, but the opener wouldn't stay seated - it kept rolling up and off the rim. At first I thought something had bent, but it's too tough for that to happen. I think it was probably a rounded (maybe incomplete) crimp on the can. I let the zombies have it. Everything before and since has been perfect.Brilliantly conceived and well-built. Highly recommended.

I have had at least three can openers from different manufacturers of this type and they all stop working after a few years. The problem seems to be that they wear to the point where they do not slice the seal between the top and the can cylinder itself.I have not had this particular unit long enough to comment on its life expectancy. It is easy to use, and works just fine. I have other can openers, both electric and manual, but I prefer to use this one since it leaves the top usable as a cover. If you use less than a full can, like for pet food, it's nice to be able to place the top back on and place it in the refrigerator.I have not tried it on odd shaped cans, although I expect it to work on these type cans. I have an excellent EZ Duz It "non safety" can opener which will open any can I have tried it on IF this unit will not work. This Starfrit unit opens cans easily with no drama and no mess. It is worth a few dollars more to avoid buying junk.
