Unlike passive adapters, this ensures the DP2DVIMM3BS can be used with graphics cards that are not capable of outputting multimode DP++ signals, such as ATI Eyefinity cards. Plus, because the converter cable supports video resolutions up to 1920x1200 you can convert a DisplayPort video source to DVI without sacrificing video quality. The DP2DVIMM3BS is backed by a 2-year StarTech. Note: This adapter is not compatible for use with the Apple Cinema Display.

Works great if your monitor is DVI-D and graphics card DP

After purchasing two DisplayPort to DVI cables, I encountered an issue with one of them within just three months of use. Prior to its malfunction, my monitor screen intermittently dropped out for a few minutes before returning. I conducted thorough testing, swapping identical monitors and an identical Dell dock, conclusively determining that the cable was the source of the problem. Disappointingly, the StarTech cable failed to meet expected longevity standards.

This is a good quality cable. The 3 foot length keeps extra cabling to a minimum and keeps things looking neat and tidy.

I bought this cable as it claimed to be able to support up to 144hz at 1080p.I've tried several things to try to get this to work, but it doesn't.

Just what I needed to make my 3 monitors work. Remember, if you have 3 connections on your graphics card and one of them is DisplayPort, you need and Active DisplayPort cord or it won't work right. Get this one, all you need at a great price too.

Using this to attach a Dell 2405WFP as the third monitor in my setup that has two Dell U2715H monitors that are connected by DisplayPort Daisy chaining to my surface pro 2. This cable is connected to the DisplayPort out on the second monitor. Note, I've tested it with a passive DisplayPort to dvi cable and it didn't work. So this is the cable you want if you are connecting a dvi monitor as the last monitor in a chain of DisplayPort daisy chained monitors.I like the cable better than the adapter route as it has fewer points of connection, but an active adapter should work fine two. Cable works great, just wish they had it in a ten foot version.

Worked like a charm!... for a while I have been looking for an active cable and finally I have one! I had to reset my graphics card first so it could recognize it but it's working great with my 3 monitor setup.

This is a true active RP / DVI cable and one of the few that would work in my scenario. It is automatically detected by my computers Baytrail Atom processor's GPU and allow me to add a second display to my system.

The only gripe I have about this is, how short it is, but it does say 3ft in the description and that is what you get, not an inch more.
