Don't buy the cheaper cable adapter from Ebay. They give poor signal and black screen randomly. This version works. You get what you pay for.

A latch to secure the DisplayPort connection is a good idea, but it's difficult to unlatch especially in tight locations where you can't get your fingers on both sides of the connector.Also, when you press the button to unlatch there's really not much travel for tactile feedback or an audible click for aural feedback.

This manufacturer actually follows the DisplayPort standard in construction of this cable. I had numerous bootlooping and crash problems using a much cheaper off-brand cable. It seems to have been a Pin 20 problem that is an issue on non-spec cables. I tossed the cheaper cable for this one - problems gone.

We bought several of these cables because of an incompatibility in the DisplayPort between our monitor and computers. The monitors supported both DVI and DisplayPort so we just got these to work around the problem. They work great. They appear to be made well and have worked fine for a long time now. Of course, you have to realize that DVI does not carry sound so you'll have to do something different for the sound like a standard audio cable between the devices. We are running full HD 1920x1080 so I can't comment on higher resolutions.

Plugged 2 of these into a MSTMDP122DP Mini DisplayPort to 2x DisplayPort Multi Steam Hub. It eliminated the need for 2 DisplayPort to DVI adapter and I just connected it directly to the monitor.
