The wiring was easy and after some scratches and bruises I managed to get it done pretty fast.If you have big hands you’ll see what I’m talking about.Make sure you scan the QR code and scroll all the way down to program the module!!!The module needs programming!

Following the YouTube video made it slightly easier. On our Rav4, there was another screw on the left lower panel than shown. Also, if you have big hands, this is going to be tough. I used players to remove and install.Remember to sync the module before closing everything up!

The install was easy, well documented, well designed and it worked out of the gate. 110% recommend this solution. I think the price is a bit high, maybe around $149 range would have been more palatable.

The Pros: It does exactly what you need it to. It allows you to remote start your car.The Cons: This is more of a knock against Toyota; be prepared to twist your hands in ways you didn't think we're humanly possible.Toyota put a support bar within the dash that is immovable. Right in front of everything you need to access. And if you have XL hands like I do, be prepared to break a sweat.

As others have said, the install is very straightforward and requires minimal tools. This version also works with the hybrid model which is another plus. The only downside is that the car doesn’t stay turned on when you get in. It shuts off and then you have to start it again which is a little bit annoying. It does work great for warming up the car before going outside though which is why many might choose to purchase. For the price I guess I can’t complain but would love to see a version where the car stays started (unless there’s a fix for that I just haven’t found yet)

Yea the starter works flawlessly if you follow the instructions to program it. It's real easy to do. But be prepare to swear a bit if you follow the video guide for the install. They took off a few more panels to have the necessary space. So it's a bit more fiddling to get to the connectors. Especially if you have big hands like I have. If you have access to a nice girl with slim hands and short nails, I would definitely ask for her help.

I installed it, that was the easy part. Very simple you can't go wrong. Its just plugs. Programed it and it worked for a few times then it would not start the car. Lights blinked and when I peeked in the window, the center console said there was a smart key malfunction. I master reset it and reprogrammed it and same thing. I ordered a replacement and installed it and same issue. Support is a bit slow because it is through email mostly. My car works normally with the pushbutton start and key fob so I dont know why it didnt work.Update, they called they asked me to pull out the DCM fuse then it worked. Seemed this is not plug and play for my particular car.I have to say these guys are great to work with though!!! The company emailed me back and said they would look into it a bit more so maybe this will save someone else the headache. They say its not a common. They emailed me and asked me if I would be willing to try it with a few different options. They didnt have to do that as I had already returned the item and got a refund. They sent me a couple of different harnesses that disables the DCM. When I got the item and had some issues they called me back and offered support. They did this even though they didnt have to. I think we got it to work with the different harness. Maybe I am speaking too soon but will try and update in a few weeks. I just installed it and it seems to work.So far I am very happy. If anyone has the same issue this is a 2021 PBS Hybrid. I am very happy with the customer service I received.

As other reviewers have stated, having installation and programming directions in two separate places keeps this unit from being a perfect experience and it would be an easy fix. Otherwise, works well and wasn't too difficult to install. Note that there is a screw and a 10mm bolt on the left kick panel you'll need to remove the left door still trim and front left side piece to reach that the video didn't mention.Don't force anything or pinch any wires, be gentle with the connectors and you should be good!

Just installed today. The installation wasn't really that hard, but if your hands are big it can be frustrating. It came with instructions and a link to a video. My only complaint was the hybrid t harness installation. Neither the instructions nor the video were clear about where it plugged in (tip: pay attention to the colors of the connectors above where it connects in the photo that shows the connection). Another tip: connect the hybrid connector BEFORE BCM connectors; the video suggests this but the written instructions suggests the opposite). The remote start is via the factory key fob, which is convenient if you don’t want to carry around another key fob. However, you are limited to basically wherever you can currently lock/unlock with the remote. You can add an RFK remote which can expand range or supposedly a cellular module that can allow you to unlock via an app (I couldn’t find this). There is additional cost here (RFK-477 $63 on Amazon). If you went that route your total cost would be $263 for both the unit and the remote. At the time of this review, the cheapest at Best Buy (Viper DS4VB) is $270, has 2600+ ft range and is free install at Best Buy (caveat: appointments are booked 2-4 weeks out and I’d have to travel 30 min away). That’s only a $7 difference, so if you desire extended range and don’t want to deal with the install, the Viper might be a better deal. If you want to start via an app, there are also other units but are in the $600+ price range.Overall, the value here is if you’re comfortable doing the install and don’t want the extended range and are okay with the factory key fob range. Then, there’s a savings. For me, I was comfortable with the install and didn’t want to wait for a professional and I actually wanted the start to be via the key fob (I didn’t want to carry around another fob) and I’m able to easily start my car just opening the front door or hitting it from my desk.
