It gets the water hot pretty quickly and the steam isn’t just a bit of moisture. It provides a real good amount of steam. I hung up my dress shirt that air dried but was still wrinkled and I watched as the creases came out as I applied the steam from this steamer.I used distilled water so calcium doesn’t build up in the container and I always make sure to empty the steamer between uses so mold doesn’t form
