Steel Dragon Tools Magnetic Drill Press with 1-3/4 inch Boring Diameter & 2700 LBS Magnetic Force
The Steel Dragon Tools MD45 Magnetic Drill Press with 2,700 lbs. of magnetic force ensures the press will not move during operation. This press will attach directly to the metal surface to drill precision holes quickly and safely. The Steel Dragon Tools MD45 offers a maximum boring depth of 7 in. and maximum boring diameter of 1-3/4 in. The MD45 has an MT2 spindle taper and comes with an MT2 to 3/4-inch Weldon Shank converter. Features a variable-speed motor.
A secured magnetic drill press provides more leverage than a hand drill, allowing the operator to cut even, consistent holes. The magnet also allows the drill to operate upside down.
A full line of 1-inch and 2-inch HSS annular cutters by Steel Dragon Tools are available.

Magnet doesn’t really stay attached trying to drill 3/4” holes in 1/4” plate which is rough for this price.Once it gets to the bottom of the hole it lifts the mag base off the steel. This leads to walking and breaking tools. Also so everyone understands how the speed controller works. It’s not mechanical. It’s pwm on a dc motor which means. It looses torque the slower you go. So you turn it up high and then start cutting. It will slow down dramatically. If you start slow and then start cutting it will slow to a stop. You have to adjust the speed dial once you start cutting which means high speed initial engagement. Just makes for poor tool life and generally defeats the whole purpose of speed controlling. If I had the option still to get my money back I would. Avoid this if you plan on drilling holes hassle free.I gave it 2 stars because if you hold the top down while turning the handle it cuts holes and it turns on.

It works as advertised. Adjustable speed is nice, and the magnet is strong. It is definitely not a 3/4" adjustable base Milwaukee, but it didn't cost
