I recently bought this rain drum so I could unplug and have something fun and relaxing to do outside on the back patio. It works pretty good as a hand drum, just tapping with the sides of my thumbs, but with the sticks it is very resonant and gets the attention of all of the cats 😆. I've learned to play a few of the classic songs from the song book (happy birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) and it's awesome, as I'm not a musically inclined person. I've left it outside near my wind chimes so it can catch the rain and they harmonize well together. It still works and isn't rusting at all. I'm satisfied with the quality and the sound I get from it and I'm looking forward to learning more advanced songs with more practice.

This product is wonderful. It’s probably great for a Christmas, Birthday, or just a treat yourself gift. It’s great for beginner. We want one because we saw a bunch of people using one as a rain drum. We got a smaller one to see it worths good 😊

I had ordered 2 different rain drums. Like the sound of this one much better. Seems like the rain/water hitting doesn’t require as much force as the other one I ordered. It has several more notes for a few $$ more. Open on bottom with plug. I’m leaving bottom open while outside.

I love that my toddler can experience soothing sounds when I play this for him. During the rainy season I’ll put it outside of our window and tell him to listen patiently as the raindrops create sounds for us !!!

This was the lowest price one I could find. It sounds pretty good. The higher pitch ones are not as good but ok.

Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o)Wow! These Rain Drums are all the rage right now. It was hard to grab one for a review, and finally acquired one to try out. (Thank You, Ibidobst!)I can see why these drums are so popular, and amazing-- that's saying something! ;o)This malachite (actually looks like emerald green drum to me ;o) 6" 11 note drum comes complete with a brown velvet-like drawstring bag, a nice songbook, two drumsticks/mallets, 4 finger paddles, drumstick holder, and 1set of number stickers.I confess, I am not a musician... the sounds from this drum sound pretty melodious and wonderful! Perfect for meditation, yoga, or just plain fun! That said, my drum sounds are pretty good, with a nice, bell-like tones-- save for two of the shorter steel tongues numbered #07 and #01-dot (1 with the dot on top) which does sound quieter, or flatter even. I may have to learn how to tune these two tongues in the near future, with magnets or whatnot.Perhaps because the tongues are smaller. I'm still giving this drum a full score, because it is well made, with a nice rubber stopper (a tip for you: the drum actually sounds better without it). There's rubber feet surrounding the hole at the underside of the drum, plus an 'C' cutout on the bottom-- designating the drum as 'C' Major, along with the aforementioned accessories.I do have one teeny comment to make to the maker of these drums... the number stickers doesn't adhere well over time-- perhaps the manufacturer could silkscreen the numbers permanently on the drum, as I saw recently with a different rain drum. ;o)Please, don't forget to enjoy making this (rain drum) music, it's a balm for your soul! ;o)Give this Ibidobst 11 Notes 6 Inch Rain Drum with Travel Bag, Music Book, Drumsticks, Holder and Finger Paddles (Malachite) a try...
