Now i can understand why these are sold and considered as rain drums because as a steel tongue drum they are poorly made. They are tuned to about a toddlers metal xylophone and three notes on mine are very dull sounding no matter how or where i hit the note it rings muffled. as for an outside rain chime they work well though they need to have thick rain drops striking it so i would put it under a leaky rain gutter or some place where it gets heavy rain droplets.

This is a very nice steel tongue drum. I have a few different ones and this one is better than most because it has slots in the tongues for better tones than other tongue drums I've seen. The drum also has a rubber belt around the rim of the instrument that helps dampen some of the stray overtones. The blue color on the one I received isn't the same as the picture. It's more of a teal color.

Gift to an 8-year-old and 3 yr old boys who love musical instruments. They had lots of fun playing the drum. Nice for the parents because the tones are pleasant.

This melodic steel drum by Sannofair sounds terrific ,the tones are rich and quite pleasing .The drum kit comes with everything you need to play it ,and its small size makes it easy to put away .I think it would make a great gift for all ages youth or adult.

The Rain Drum comes nicely packaged in a box. The accessories included are drum sticks, drum stick pad, carrying pouch, finger tips and a nice user manual which contains some music notes.The drum sounds well tuned right out of the box and it produces very soothing sound. The build quality is not the greatest but its decent. This drum could make a nice gift for family and friends. Yes, I would recommend this drum.
