I am really impressed by this stereo bar. I have two other ones (one plastic and one metal), and in terms of flexibility, build quality, and usefulness, this one is the best. I've wanted to get other stereo bars that were bigger than mine to offer a wider stereo field, and they were always out of my price range. For something similar, you'd pay at least 4x the amount. This bar, because of its size and functionality, takes the place of a small and large stereo bar. It's pretty easy to use and intuitive. Once I tighten the thumbscrews, it stays put.The package comes with the bar, four mic clips, and several screw adapters. I wish the mic clips were more universal since these are more for handheld vocal mics. If they would have included spring clips, I feel that would have been more useful, but I'm not complaining. I have screw adapters for my mic clips, but for some reason they won't screw down completely with the stereo bar. I have no idea why. When I use the included adapters, it works just fine. I'm just wondering if the thumbscrews attached to the stereo bar are slightly larger than normal. All in all, this is a huge value for the money. It makes stereo recording a cinch for someone who is getting into sound recording. I think this even rivals the pro gear you might see at the big-name music store online.

Just recorded my recital using this mic stand extension! It's a very comprehensive and versatile set, which allows you to pick and choose whether you need to record with four or just a pair of microphones. I'd say this is ideal for a pair of condenser pencil mics – perfect for live classical concerts and classical guitar recital/studio recording, which is what I used it for. Everything functions and works like butter on bread – it comes with bolts and clips for dynamic mics as well. Might be a bit pricey for its segment, but you get a high-quality reliable product that will remain a part of your inventory.

This is going to be put into use in many different recording applications. I’ll be doing an important live event for a celebration of life that will have some great live performances. I’ll be live multitrack recording it and will likely be using this mic adapter bar to hold a stereo X/Y pair or for a couple different scenarios where I would have four different mics on the bar to capture different angles with different mics. I also have a couple different isolation type shields that can be placed strategically between mics or behind them to help with isolation of channels being recorded. For mounting more than one mic to a single stand, and for setting up stereo, and X/Y microphone configurations, this is a great attachment to have for any home studio, or live sound setup. Glad to have this in the stand kit!

The main components of this is well made. It allows for multiple adjustments and variety in your mic setup. But, when put together, there is a lot of give in the joints due to the hardware being sub par. Not enough length on threads, or friction on washers, etc. Luckily, I have cannibalized many microphone setups, and was able to use other hardware to make this more secure. Once that was done, this work truly well.

Very nice heavy duty Mic mount for stereo XY and every other configuration, for that matter.Has markings for metric and imperial so you can set your angles and distance equally.I really like products where someone thought about this and made it versatile so if you are on set or in the studio and need to put four singers with four mics on two mic stands or something you can take it apart and do just that. The rubber washers are stuck and keep the two arms locked in.I find it easier to take off the larger top thumb nuts and tighten up the bottom screws then use the top nuts as lock nuts. It comes with the four standard handheld mic holders they are the softer plastic no metal inserts. Now the only issue I see is that all the metal 3/8-16 to 5/8 -27 insert adapters do not have threads all the way up, so if you need to use the adapter for the thinner shorter center mount to your mic stand that has the smaller 3/8 -16 threads you will need one of those thin 5/8 -27 jam thumb nuts OR a thick 5/8 washer, plastic, rubber or metal.Mic stands used to come with a thin stainless "star" shaped 5/8 27 jam nut, those would work well if you got them.Because the threads don't go all the way up and the metal bar is thinner then the big bars the adapter just spins out of the threads when it should tighten up.Not a big deal, just try to let people know so they can order that nut if they need it for their stand. The only things I would do with these mounts in future iterations is make a locking indexed rosette type joints, perhaps with a way to defeat it by just flipping the main bars upside down and putting down a rubber washer. And I would also cut a slot in the top of all of the nuts and screws so you can use a screw driver or coin to snug them up.Thanks, Hope this Helps!
