I purchased these as the brand I usually buy (Coastal Cuisine) here on Amazon was out of stock. I can tell you after cooking a filet of fresh salmon on one of these planks the food was not edible. The salmon had a strong pungent taste from the plank. I use cedar planks once a week and very familiar with how fish should turn out on them. Some are thicker and some are thinner but the flavor has been pretty consistent. These planks purchased seemed to have a very strong heavy cedar smell to begin with. I didn't think it would transfer into the food. All the other brands I've used have a lighter cedar smell and I end up with a nice smoked salmon flavor not smoke and raw cedar flavor.To top it off, I received several nasty messages from the seller.Hope this review helps the next person considering their cedar plank purchase.
