This is a women's dress sewing pattern from Style Arc. Few pieces of clothing are more universally flattering than a retro fit and flare dress. We have reinvented this classic shape to feature a seam that sits slightly above the natural waistline to blouson a little and allow this style to fall freely. The neat collar, cuffed sleeves and inseam pockets will make this style a favourite for all occasions. FABRIC SUGGESTIONS: Rayon, silk, crepe. MAIN FABRIC ESTIMATE (cut on the fold, 2 way): Fabric Width: 148 cm (58 in) > Sizes 4 - 14: 2.2 m (2.4 yd) > Sizes 16 - 22: 2.5 m (2.75 yd) > Sizes 24 - 30: 3 m (3.3 yd). FUSE FOR FACINGS & COLLAR (width 90 cm or 36 in): 50 cm (20 in). TRIMS: > 10 Buttons 11.5 mm (18L).

Let me start by saying, I'm a very experienced seamstress, and have made many apparel items. This pattern makes me feel very conflicting things, here's a summary:Pros--the paper is okay (colors can be a tad overwhelming, but good once cut out), the pattern pieces seem to sew together well (i.e. they match up on marking points).Cons:-No directions- all they have is a diagram with colors and arrows and I got an actual, literal headache trying to figure out what order they wanted me to sew them in. Could not find the tutorial video that others mentioned.- Also I cut a size larger than I needed, and it was too tight in the bodice, and the bodice was dramatically short. (Yes, I checked my measurements twice before cutting, and I'm actually fairly petite, so my measurements should've been fine for the design)Tl,dr: I wasted 2 yards of a stashed, favorite mock-up material on this. I would much rather buy cheaper, tissue paper patterns on sale and get a salvageable product and work with that than be at this loss. RIP to my fabric that I can't replace now.Gave it 3 stars, because technically, it gave me a pattern. I got a product. It just completely lacked any directions on it, which is a semi-vital requirement for sewing patterns. (Creators: maybe add some numbers next to the arrows? Like, a 1, then 2, then 3, so on.)(I didn't mean to seem so harsh, but I was really upset. Good pattern, but needs adjustments.)

I was looking for a classic shirt dress like women wore in the 1950s and this pattern fits the bill. the range of sizes is great and the instructions for constructing the garment are brief but informative. the range of fabrics suggested is too small. the paper is heavier than the standard Mccall's / Simplicity tissue paper, so the pieces are easier to handle although I haven't pinned and cut fabric out with them yet. Just like the standards one must cut out the pattern pieces first. looking forward to a classic dress in some nice fabric (linen/cotton blend).

Very easy pattern and clear instructions. Do measure yourself!!! We spent 2 days working on this dress- day 1, cut the pattern, pin to the fabric, and cut the pieces out. Day 2- surge all sides, and sew together. If you are an experienced seamstress- it would take you a day for sure)) We just took it easy, slowly, and patiently- it is a good pattern to teach a young girl sewing techniques. Final product- nice dress that our youngster likes and wears.

Made a beautiful test dress, well fitted! The only issue was a lack of clarity in how many layers of material were supposed to go into the collar.Sadly, my pattern was destroyed in a flood before I could make the second dress with nicer fabric. Planning to reorder, though!

I'm large busted. This dress is very flattering. I used 100% cotton lawn fabric for it since Florida is so warm and humid. I'll be making more because they are so feminine and cooler than shorts with some top.Pattern is printed on crisp paper, not tissue; will be good for several uses. Must carefully read pattern for cutting and sewing instructions. Not good for a novice sewer. Pattern does not include cutting "layout".
