If you are in the big ring and you are in the 3rd largest ring in the back you will get a lot of noise from the chain. The same goes for the small ring and the 2nd from the bottom. I just use this for my smart trainer so I can climb Paso Sella and all the other big climbs. On the road I use my 11/32.
