don't let the batteries run down. Like a lot of DSP radios, it starts doing strange things when the batteries start to run low (won't hold a station on FM, squirrelly reception, etc.) Otherwise it works fine. The odd 76-108 MHz FM band was designed to cover the Asian and non-Asian market...so it's pretty useless below 88 MHz here in the US.

I just received this and the plastic packaging was not sealed, had been previously opened, had a white pet hair on it and the antenna was damaged. VERY disappointed.

My first unit came from outside Amazon, it also came with a loose broken from it's fragile moorings AM antenna. Not a big deal, a good strip of Silicone adhesive fixes just about anything without leaving the compartment filled with vapors that can cloud up a display window, (which is why I only use superglue in extremely limited circumstances) After about an hour, the tackiness was sufficient to reassemble the SC-1105 unit without any problem with the Antenna falling down or breaking loose again.Yes, it's susceptible to static on AM, but that can't really be helped other than placement away from most internal house sources of interference, the fact that I can gain a clear shot at a weak signal is the most important item that this unit is capable of performing. On FM, no static, but on both bands the dial is off a bit, so plan to go below or above where you'd normally tune to, typically if you can find a familiar audio nearby, your favorite station won't be far away.It also has a functional tuning LED that shines through a hole near the word "TUNE" below the dial area.I'm glad that the Supersonic people decided to go DSP because I've had previous models that were not DSP and I can't remember if they were any good, I imagine they might have been sub-par or else I'd have a better recollection of their past performance, (confirmation bias, I know). The sound level is adequate, in fact it's louder than ZesGood models I've reviewed previously, so when I get a chance, I want to compare this model with my other selective favorite, the Jameson model of 2 AA DSP radio.

A perfect little radio. Just weighs a few grams and seems good for travelling.

Good little radio. Volume can go really loud. Tunes easily and picks up all the stations. Clear sound. AM can get staticky. FM is perfect.
