This is such a cool idea and simple. I have a couple of the candle lanterns. One I take camping and a couple others that I keep at the house for emergencies. This add on, along with the reflector, works great For making a staple platform.

It adds a bit of stability on it's own, and when combined with the reflectors it is a fantastic stand for uneven ground or clumsy kids. The lantern is tough, but this feels like it will help with drop protection, too.

Unlike other reviewers, I find it important to understand that since this device comes from a small 3rd party manufacturer and not from UCO directly, it is not a rip-off to offer a neat little accessory for the UCO lantern.

I have had the problem of tipping a candle lantern and splashing liquid wax on the inside of the glass. This makes it a bit more stable. It's main use is for snow. I can't comment on that as we have no snow yet but I don't see whyit would not work.
