The top of the weathervane pivots on a strong stainless steel pin. The wind-cups have a sealed ball bearing.

This product is heavy, very well made and looks great!! We did mount it on a garden pole since we ordered the one for peak of a roof or something, but it was super easy to mount to a garden pole. We placed it in our hosta bed in the backyard and it looks and works amazing!!! Highly recommend this to anyone looking at it! You will not be disappointed!!

I love this weathervane, however, the one I purchased for my son a few years ago has rusted out, therefore, I just purchased a new one for him. I'm thinking if we clear coat it first it may stave off the rusting process.
