I just received my cutlass today and I'm very pleased with my purchase. A very well crafted replica of a Navel sword that will excentiate my Fathers Navy display to Honor his memory and service. Thank You !

Good solid sword for prop. Would not recommend for younger pirates, as it is heavy and real metal. I got two.

Sturdy and has a nice heft. Love the brass basket hilt. Nice leather grip. All in all, the perfect addition to any pirate costume. (Or privateer, if you're touchy).

Reviews were all over the place so I kept my expectations low. I was pleasantly surprised.Sword has a dull edge which for me is good. It also came pre-oiled, which I appreciated. Sword is well made and sturdy. My favorite thing is that it is nondescript and plain so it makes for a great costume sword.Scabbard is well constructed with a pleather-like exterior and brass fixtures.Perfect for a high-end costume or as a display piece.

I'll start this off by saying that this is a terrible sword. It's top heavy, not balanced in the slightest, made from cheap stainless steel, and the brass guard is extremely thin. It has no edge at all, the blade is rounded. I give it 5 stars because I knew it wasn't a sword when I bought it. this is a decorative piece, not a weapon. it was built to look nice, not work well as a sword, and it excels at what it was made for. A lot of people said theirs had dents in the handguard, but mine did not have any out of the box. the brass is thin, though, so it could easily dent. The leather on the handle is amazing, everything is fitted nicely, the length and blade profile are perfect, and the scabbard is legitimately very nice. Despite being a wall hanger, and not an actual sword, this piece does have a full tang. you can see the steel from the tang in the center of the brass pommel. that being said, it is a cylindrical tang, so probably a rat tail tang.

I bought this little number back in 2017 for a Halloween costume. My buddies and I were all going as pirates and I wanted something akin to a wall-hanger that I could swing around and not have the blade fly out of the handle. It arrived pretty quickly in the mail and that's where it began. Gave it a few a few swings, its weighty and pretty solid. You can feel that its not really meant for "heavy use" but as a costume piece its pretty authentic. You should know that leaving something like this in a house full of bachelors will only lead to property damage. After Halloween the temptation of having a sword in the house began to gnaw at us all. Soon enough there were impromptu sword vs shovel duels in the hallways, "cutting" at anything that seemed like it would be fun (its entirely dull), using the hand guard to smash melons and anything else that looked like it would be fun to smash. Even a computer monitor met its end at the tip of this robust beauty after refusing to walk the plank . . This prop held up through it all. The blade is a little bit loose now and the hand guard is dented and tarnished but the ol' swashbuckler has at least one more duel in her.TL;DR - Good Prop, Worth the Price.

Great weight and look for costume use. I wish it had a frog button to keep it secure on a belt.

All metal construction, but clearly made more for costume use than for anything else. Very good value for the price. The threaded steel tang is inserted into a brass cap at the end of the handle and ground flat- not that attractive, but easily concealed. The guard is thin and dents easily- but as it's for a pirate costume, this actually lends it authenticity. This sword comes with no edge, but it does have a potentially lethal point, and I would never put anything like this into the hands of fools, drunkards or children. Decent sheath- in toto, it looks pretty good. The steel blade has some heft to it, and requires support- use a frog and and an over-the-shoulder harness if you want this to stay on comfortably without pulling your pants off. I made mine- but you can get stuff like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Swordmaster-Black-Leather-Hanger-Baldric/dp/987900065X/ref=sr_1_70?ie=UTF8&qid=1477443474&sr=8-70&keywords=sword+belt

Remarkable quality for the price!! This is a stainless steel blade, certainly not battle-ready but still good quality steel. The hilt and pommel are hammered and riveted brass, heavy gauge. The scabbard is leather with brass fittings. Well-made, great quality!!
