I have had several of these Cito bar clamps that would keep the plate from sliding off some, but with repeated use the bar, or the clamp itself would crack and fail, and we are not talking significant weights that caused this kind of damage. These clamps are nice because the stress of the plates and the compressive force is on a metal bolt that looks like it will last just a little bit longer than previous devices I've used. My concern with these clamps again is that they are plastic but the plastic is a heavier duty plastic and again the main compression spot is going to be more on the Bolt than it is going to be on a plastic snap mechanism that is going to be prone to breaking. But they go on very quick and easy and I think you will be pleased if you have a 1 inch bar that needs clamps.

I was excited to get these, as I have the old style collars where you have to keep spinning the pin around, and was hoping for performance like the type at the gym. Collars should go on easy, click tight and easily click back loose. That isn't the case here.I bought 2 sets- 2 collars are too tight to easily get on and off the bar, the other 2 go on easy but aren't tight (I can already spin them a little, which I imagine will get worse over time) and I don't know that I'd trust them with a lot of weight. Basically a quality control issue- if they were all in the middle between the too tight and the too loose, they'd be great. There's a bolt that I hoped I could adjust, but with average torque, I couldn't and didn't want to break it.
