Eh, I kinda wish I'd just kept my 5-gallon heater in there; it got the water much hotter and when am I going to need more than 5 gallons of hot water at a time anyway?? I took that one out to put this one in. I somewhat regret that decision. Luckily it won't be too difficult to take this one out and return to my initial configuration. My biggest grip is the temperature; I was only able to get it barely past 100 F. That's not hot, especially since I like my hot water steaming hot. So, for me, not worth the money, not worth the effort installing it. And if you have to run a 110 line just to install this thing, forget it.

This heater will only run on 120V, not 240V. As such, all current in-home wiring will either be rated for 15A (14 AWG) or 20A (12 AWG), neither of which will safely run 32A as required for full heat operation. If you have the luxury of having unfinished space and can easily run 10 AWG cable to where this water heater is intended to be, and your electrical panel will accept a single pole 120V 40A breaker, then bully for you. My home is completely finished, so I had no such option. As such, I was relegated to using a standard 20A circuit that was already in the island under the kitchen faucet. I tried to run it at full heat and it tripped the breaker. I tried at 120, then 110. Both failed. I finally succeeded at 100 degrees F. I have a 2 Gallon hot water tank under the other kitchen sink and that works great. In a word, this one is meh. It gives me warm water till the hot water makes it up from the basement. Go with the tank heaters and you'll be happy.

I agree with a few of the other reviewers that note that this unit requires a very heavy duty 10 gauge wire to maximize its use. As our home is 20 years old, no such wire exist. Our only hope was to do as others have done and set lower temperatures, which at least makes the water somewhat comfortable until the real hot water arrives. I had considered trying to run a 10 gauge wire through the attic and down through the wall, but the price and complexity of that operation dissuaded me.I was able to get 110° out of my existing wiring, but a breaker would trip if I had to depend on this heater for more than about one minute. To avoid the hassle, I was relegated to 100°. That’s still better than the 60-70° water that commonly comes through before the blast of heat. As the advertisement for this item is wholly truthful and does not disguise the fact that higher amperage capable wiring is required, I will not deduct any stars. Overall, I’m fairly happy with the net result, and the footprint of this unit is quite small compared to heaters with tanks. I do recommend this unit, with the caveat that common household wiring will not get you truly hot water.

Installed this in the workshop and now I have warm water without waiting or running up the bill. The remote and touchscreen are easy to use. It heats fast and stays steady without needing a giant tank. A little lifesaver for smaller spaces or outbuildings. Great option for cabins, sheds, or anywhere you need hot water but not a bulky heater.

Our camper originally had a propane 6 gallon water heater. While we can appreciate the benefits of propane, we would prefer electric so we snapped up this as an alternative. If it's easily in the space we have for this amenity. It works well when connected to shore power which is the only time we would use hot water.

I ordered this tankless water heater to install on my daughter's bathroom sink. I have a well and the water takes a few minutes to heat up to get from the water heater to her bathroom on the other side of the house through many pipes. It is very complicated to set up. I didn't have the right electrical wiring so hired an electrician to install. I didn't realize it was hard wired so that's my fault. After installation, it worked well, but it was not quite like I expected. It isn't instantly hot, but it does not run out. This would work better on a smaller home or cabin. It's handy to have, but I think the cost isn't worth the hassle of installation and operation. The remote is nice as I don't need to go under the sink to adjust the temperature, but I don't use often because it's set as I like it. I think it would be better to purchase a full size, whole home water heater at the added cost instead of piecing it together as I am. As far as operation, it works as it should once set up.
