Manual a little hard to understand. Better instructions would have been nice

Easy every step. Boost and simple mods on the fly as you are hooked up. Worth the price

I don't know how I ever went so long towing without a trailer brake controller. This is a must have for towing anything with brakes. Be sure to purchase your vehicle specific harness, for simple and speedy installation. The hardest part about the install is mounting the bracket that holds the brake controller. This device has a user friendly menu and a cool little display, which can be changed to match the color of your interior. Setting the brake was easy and can be adjusted on the fly. There are videos on YouTube which cover how to set it up. The quality of the controller is nice and it's not too bulky. I mounted mine under my dash, to the right side, of where my right leg sits. I never hit it getting in, or out of the truck. Includes a mount for hanging the brake controller from a visor, for ease of switching between shared vehicles. Also includes a nice little cloth case for it, when it's not mounted. Truly simple installation. I'll never tie again without it.

All parts were delivered perfectly, the installation was easy (there were plenty of youtube videos) and the instructions were well written. For my application (2000 Silverado Ext Cab Z71) I had the built in brake controller wiring to the rear 7 pin from the factory. I purchased the cable specific to my vehicle - went in quickly.I did need to get a 40a Fuse for my fuse panel to power the rear 7 pin - but that was easily and simply rectified.I have not had the opportunity to connect to a trailer to configure the controller / verify my wiring, but that should not be an issue with the device purchased. If all is wired from the factory properly, this should work perfectly.Overall, I am very happy with this device, and the ease of installation.

plug and play for my 2002 chevy suburban we bought in 2001 brand new. Never needed a brake controller until recently. First one glitched on me and I had to get amazon to refund me so I could buy a new one for a trip im about to take. so far this new one is working properly. I will update after the trip is over to give a better product review. Color and brightness is helpful. at night I like the orange as it doesn't effect your night vision as much, and the low brightness setting is good too. My suburban never came with a tow package but I had to get uhaul to install a hitch set up. to my surprise GM pre-wires the towing package into the harness for you in case you want to add it later. So this was a true plug and play set up for me (minus the mounting of the controller).Negativesthe screen could be a bit better resolution.seems a bit cheaply made on the exteriorProscomes with a GM OEM wire harness made by Delphi.the menu's are easily navigatedVery easy to programmounting bracket gives you all of options for mounting locationsinstructions are easy to read but not really needed because its super easy to navigateWill update after my 4k mile round trip is completed.

This is the first brake controller I've ever used. Bought it for my 1999 Tahoe (2 dr). to pull a two horse trailer short distances. My friend has always pulled my horse with her larger truck and trailer and I decided that I needed to be able to do it myself for short hauls. So I did some online research and decided on the P3. I had it pro installed as my Tahoe had not been wired for a trailer before (it has the tow pkg, so the wiring was at the bumper). Took the pro about 45 min. to get it in and the plug-in wired up. That cost me about $75, which I thought was reasonable. I spent a little time reading the manual and practiced adjusting it with the horse trailer empty. Pretty straight forward and didn't take much time getting it dialed in. Have not used it yet with my horse in the trailer, but feel confident that it should work perfectly. Just wanted to spend a little more time getting comfortable with using the trailer brakes before I pull the trailer with a heavier live-animal on board.

I have used other, cheaper, brake controllers and they were always hard to get just right. This Tekonsha is amazing, it works so smooth you can 't hardly feel it but it will give maximum power to the trailer if need be. I highly recommend it for its performance and also my Chevy had the wiring already installed so it plugged right in no problems.
