Telescopic Seam Ripper with Magnifying Glass by BseartyI have been waiting for this item for about a month, so don’t order if you need it quickly! The one I have is light pink, about 4 inches long and one a half-inch wide. Each side has a slide. One pushes the magnifying glass out, and the other pushes out the seam ripper. The seam ripper then is perfectly under the magnifying glass and it is ready to be used. At first I thought the magnifying glass was going to be too weak but it actually works well to see the stitches. The seam ripper is disappointing because it is not very sharp. It won’t take long for it to be dull and useless. If you found a seam ripper you like you could rubber band it with this magnifying glass and I think that would work well!

I find that the size of the handle and the short distance between the handle and the blade makes it a bit awkward to use the seam ripper properly with the red ball on the inside of the seam. I don't mind that the magnifying glass can't be used that way at all, because it does seem more useful to have it pointing towards the pointy side of the ripper, as i6 usually have to use that edge to carefully cut the first stitch or two to open the seam enough to turn the ripper over to use with the red ball inside the seam. However, I find that the distance that makes me be able to see a magnified enough view through the magnifying glass is too far away to actually be able to rip out the stitch. Maybe it's just my eyes being extra bad.Overall I think it's a great idea executed in a so-so manner.

As someone who has limited space, this is a great tool to have in my sewing supplies. There is a switch on both sides so you can use the magnifying glass, or the seam ripper on its own. Worked pretty well!

I wish someone had come up with this idea years ago! Ripping out seams is never fun and I always worry about ripping my fabric-even with the best of lights over my work and looking at it as closely as I can. This combination magnifying glass and seam ripper is a great idea. It has two slide buttons on either side of it so the seam ripper or magnifying glass can be used separately. It is larger than a standard seam ripper but I still find it comfortable to use. The magnifying glass is small but functional and it does magnify as you are ripping stitches. As with other magnifiers I want to bring it closer to my eyes to enlargen what I’m looking at but of course with this little tool if I do that I can’t rip out the seam. This will require a bit of a learning curve to adjust but overall I think this is a great little tool that belongs in every sewing box.My Amazon rating system-Five stars-As described. May have a minor problem. Good to great value.Four stars-As described but may have a more noticeable flaw or problem. Or, not as good as value.Three stars-Good item. Has a flaw/problem that requires more work than should be invested in a product. Two stars-May be a good item with work. Or, doesn’t work for me but may for someone else. One star-Nope. Doesn’t work for me and probably won’t for anyone else.

What an obviously perfect pairing. Perfection! My eyesight isn't what it used to be, so the inclusion of a magnifying glass is most welcome. (Ooh! Maybe next, add a tiny light? Just a thought...) The size is nice, too. It won't get lost in my sewing box, and I won't stab myself fishing around for it, either, since the pointy bit retracts. Love this. Highly recommend.

The concept is good and I like that the magnifying glass is positioned directly over the seam ripper. However, I am unable to use this seam ripper as it is supposed to be used if I need the magnifying glass. Most people don’t know how to properly use a seam ripper that has a red ball tip. When ripping out a long seam, you need to put the red ball tip on the BOTTOM under the threads to be removed—this means the magnifying glass cannot be used in those situations. For ripping out just a few stitches using the magnifying glass, this tool is fine, although I’d still prefer it if both the blade part and magnifier were extended out an inch or so. This seam ripper is a nice-to-have but I will probably stick with my old style and just use reading glasses if I need magnification.

This ripper worked well for me, I was able to see the thread and where to use the ripper much easier with than without the magnifier. my wife on the other hand could not use the magnifier part. She couldn't see clearly through it. We both agree the ripper part works well. with the two parts being able to retract independently when not using, she could use it without the magnifier part.It is large enough to make it easy to hold without fatigue.

I would love to see this magnifying seam ripper sold in huge quantities! I would buy a hundred, keep half for myself, and sell the rest at my flea market booth! The grip on this seam ripper has a slide button on both sides - one for the seam ripper and one for the magnifying glass. Both slides work smoothly to extend and retract their respective parts. When I hover the seam ripper over the stitches I need to cut, I can see them clearly so I only cut those stitches. The seam ripper itself works with my smaller stitches as well as with the larger ones and the handle is easy to grip and hold. This magnifying seam ripper will be a game-changer for seamstresses everywhere!
