The ball is made from a pliable (soft) material and doesn't hurt your hands as much as our older tether ball did. We were a bit worried that the weather might hurt it, but it has withstood rain and snow and freezing winter temps just fine. Ive only pumped it up once, it holds air really well. One thing that I didn't like was that there was a slight chemical smell on the ball when we first opened the package. Then smell went away quickly though.

Napoleon DynamiteWe might not have a bass, but we will have tots for dinner and then play tetherball afterward because we now have an excellent replacement for our dead tetherball, rip. We like to have theme nights and a fun game of tetherball and tots for dinner mean one thing...Napoleon Dynamite Movie Night. We had to put our theme night on hold until we had a replacement ball. I ordered this as soon as I saw it. We were so pleased with it. It doesn't leak, is smooth, includes the line, and even when filled fully, it doesn't hurt when you hit it like our original ball. The colors are fun, and we are thrilled to be playing again.

This ball is super sturdy and looks like it will last the abuse it’s about to go through.
