I learned something new after picking this thing up. I'm the only one in my family who has ever played tetherball! That doesn't happen very often, especially being the only female in a house full of men/boys. I set this thing up in no time, just twisting the poles together and sliding the water/sand base to the bottom before screwing on the top pole. Then you connect the very-secure carabiner to whichever method you choose. Finally, you can slide the stakes into the ground before filling up the base, or just fill it up. I just used water because it was quick and easy. I suggest using the stakes if you're keeping it somewhere long-term and especially if you're using sand and plan on keeping the sand in it. It would be hard to put the stakes in afterwards and you're going to want to use them.It's not the most stable tetherball pole, especially when you have two grown men playing against each other, rather aggressively, might I add. If this is for little kids, then maybe the stakes aren't necessary. Anyone older than that though, the stakes are highly recommended.The poles have a tendency to become unscrewed as you play, requiring constant tightening. At least when you use it for traditional tetherball where the rope is secure at the top. If you attach it to the hook at the top that allows it to rotate 360 degrees around the pole, this may not be an issue. We attached it using the first method and had to keep stopping to check the poles and tighten them. It's difficult to prevent this from happening with how the game is played. At least not without the addition of holes on one pole and buttons on the other. Although you would have to design it in such a way that it doesn't stick out in a manner that could cause an injury. I will leave the designing to the professionals, but it was kind of annoying when it interrupted the game because it was going to fall apart.The ball seems well made, very heavy-duty. Everything besides the pole was perfect. No complaints on the durability of the fillable base so far. Although we shall see what the sun will do to it over time. It also came with a bag to keep it all in for travel or putting it away for the winter. My whole family, ages 2 to 45, had a blast playing it together and can't wait for the good weather to return again so we can have some rematches!

To be honest, this tetheball set barely does what it aims to do. It is just cheaply constructed, and within a day of it being outside, one of the sections of poles was already slightly warped, and as a result, the pole is already bent. As well, the string lasted not even a week before it snapped.

Kit includes everything needed to get this set up and ready to play, and is easy to set up. Seems good quality, so far it has been a lot of fun witnout tippping over, but I do worry that that is a possibility with anything more than moderate play. Maybe not great for adults or big kids who play mean tetherball.

Not sure if this was for me and the family or for the goats. They seem to have more fun with it than I do. So, goat approved and fun to play with.

One of pipes you screw another one in was bent. I took a wrench and bent it out alittle bit. I could finally screw another one so the threads would take hold. Look like a manufacturing.issue

This is a nice set. It comes with everything that I need to get a game of tetherball going. I can play on grass with the stakes, or I can plan on other surfaces with the water weight.There are two options for playing tetherball. I can play the mode that has the string wrap around the pole, or I can play the mode where the string just keeps on spinning without wrapping around the pole. As long as it's weighted down, it's not going to tip over during regular play.The ball is nice and soft, and it's easy on the arms/hands. It's a nice kit that comes with everything that I need to get started, even the pump for the ball.

This is an awesome tetherball set! The way the stand is built is perfect. It took less than 5 minutes to build this. The water inflated base just slides over the post then you fill it up!This is great for being able to use and dump as needed. It also comes with some great stakes to be able to use for added positioning in the ground!This is a well designed great option to the older way of just staking the post in the ground! The carabiner to attach the tetherball rope to the top is great! It’s definitely made well and will keep secure. You have two options on securing the carabiner and rope to the top post stationary or the one that swivels around.The tether ball is a great material not cheap! It also comes with a ball pump and two needles. This is a great set that will last a long time. Very happy with this!
