This bioactive substrate is designed to replicate the silty soil that many reptile and amphibian species dig burrows in.
Robust ferns and many other terrarium plants with deep root systems are supported by this mix.
No drainage layer is needed with Terra Firma; soil will hold moisture to support necessary humidity spikes.

So for a ball pythons specifically, it’s been great. A for sure bio active substrate for ball pythons it’s been great for my baby pie bald python. No drainage layer needed, two 6 quart bags for a 20 gallon housing a baby ball python has worked great. I also used bio shot with oak leaves and I can tell my python feels like it’s in a realistic environment.P.S i use an automatic mister that mists three times a day to keep 50-70% humidity on avg.

very quick shipment and all the products look feel and smell good! First nite it maintained a humidity level of 82% and in the morning it barely dropped. Little isopods looked happy scampering around and should help with the biodudes products.. worth every penny!
