I spent to much effort clapping trying get the clapper to work. My electrical outlet is behind the headboard so I’m clapping 3 ft. away. I tested it while I stood right in front of it it worked ok, if your clap sound is inconsistent you’re going to have problems and frustration.

I’ve always wanted one of these…..since the commercials in ‘90’s, and I love it! I use it for a string of lights that needs to be unplugged but is in a hard-to-reach area.

Loved the easy way to turn Christmas tree lights on and off! Worked well. Couple times odd noises seemed to turn tree off … my do layed next to tree to chew on antler toy and the noise made the tree go off then on… actually more humorous than annoying! Would buy again.

Somehow I ended up telling my 8 year old son about this product coming out when I was a kid, and he wanted one. After receiving it in the mail and plugging it in, it is clear that the technology is exactly as it was in the late 80s. This product requires 3 slow claps to even function; and when it does function correctly it’s very inconsistent, to the point where you will hear it click to turn on/off the light but nothing happens. I would say that for roughly every 3 times my son tried to clap it on or off, it functioned only once. It was nice to reminisce but I’d like to forget how unreliable gadgets like this were 30+ years ago. Returning it and erasing it from my long term memory bank.

Forget google home, forget Alexa, forget Siri. Get down with the clap. It’s the original and the best. My wife loves it when I come into a dark room and clap like welcoming the king of light. She loves it when I wake up in the middle of the night at clap to the lords of illumination with my might. For I am king of light. I am the lord of illumination. With the deft impact of my hands, I control the shadows. Darkness be gone. Like Thanos, my hands hold the power. Now and forever.

It works but it is not easy. The problem is that you need to pace your claps and even then it doesn't work consistently.

Okay everyone ! It actually is very interesting... there is a 2 clap and 3 clap plug, I know it says it on the box but I was just so excited for the machine I forgot how advanced it is. So your claps are displayed on the machine as little lights and depending on which plug you have your device plugged into it can control them separately depending on how many claps it hears. (Which I love) I have my fan plugged into the 2 clap slot. Paying attention to the lights on the device makes it easier to operate because you can tell hell many claps it hears and sometimes I find I have to clap more than specified to make it work but that’s fine because of the little lights. Having said that, I have been listening to the album “Notorious K.I.M. - Lil Kim” on cassette at a pretty decent volume... how else can you listen to rap music?... and i have to lower it a little bit because the claps in the music throw it off. Other than that, I’m curious to plug a light into it and to listen to music to see if it strobes 😂... it is actually pretty useful since I do not ever feel Iike going behind the fan to turn it on and this way I can perpetually keep it on the highest setting and clap twice to turn it on. And to answer some other people’s questions I’m sure if I clap some cheeks it will react! 😂😂
