Add some duct tape to underside to prevent any scratching of steering wheel area-adds alot of security to Club wheel lock-prevents cutting of area around steering wheel itself to slip Club off and due to mass of hardened steel can't readily/easily cut by even handheld battery powered cutting wheels let alone hacksaw by hand.

Great addition to a regular Club lock. It takes a few moments to get used to installing, though. I would recommend putting the hook at the long arm in first, then the other side. What you have to know about the unit is it really only works in the big opening at the top of the steering wheel (at least for me). Negatives are a little clunky to store and can get scratched up. Otherwise, this is definitely going to make it hard to steal a truck.This was installed on a Gen 2 Toyota Tacoma.

Remember that this protects from steering wheel air bag theft and is does that very well. The Club by itself can be bypassed for airbag theft even while on the steering wheel depending on how it is put on. With this and The Club, the steering wheel airbag is fully covered tand protected. But the install is a bit awkward. Because this unit is heavy metal (the protection) and its two sides swivel around its center connector (allowing a single unit to fit and cover different steering wheels), it can be awkward to get on as the two Club pieces are simultaneously sliding. Best to seat the unit on the steering wheel and then insert The Club first into the smaller of the two unit slots then the larger slot, then lock The Club.

I have the original Club “Cap” that TOTALLY covers the whole steering wheel securely. Rim and all. The Club slides in and you’re protected. The reason WHY the total “Cap” is BETTER is because just having a Club on your steering wheel is meaningless to a determined thief. They will just take a hacksaw to your steering wheel rim and slip the Club OFF. The “Cap” prevents that from happening. THIS does not cover the whole steering wheel, meaning it doesn’t cover the rim. Which CAN be cut through. I have the cats in my driveway and they have alarms but I just wanted the extra feeling of security that the TOTAL “Cap” provides. Maybe this will be enough of a visual deterrent. It works properly, just not as good as the old ones.

This is potentially the best compact steering wheel lock / security accessory out there for a Club Lock. Only issue is being it comes in one size.. If there was a deeper / thicker sized version so I don't have to remove my steering leather wheel cover to fit it I would be using it now.As it stands I will be cutting and inserting two 1cm steel strips into the two halves and then I will have a close to perfect solution.Great idea, could be made better and actually marketed...

Had my previous vehicle stolen from in front of my house in the middle of the night. (Probably wasn't too hard, considering it was a 1998 SUV with very minimal anti-theft preventions.). After recently buying a new vehicle, I immediately went out and bought the top-of-the-line Club, and then came across the Shield, after researching clubs and other reasonably-priced-but-effective anti-theft devices.Have had my shield for almost a month now, it perfectly serves the purpose for which I bought it - to give me peace of mind that my car will not (easily) be stolen.The Club alone affords SOME peace of mind, figuring that it will make most car thieves move on, but having read that some persistent car thieves will just cut the steering wheel to remove it, I decided to get the Shield for that extra layer of protection and deterrence.I suppose it is in the realm of possibility that my car can still be stolen with both devices properly installed, but I would imagine that it would take a very long time for them to get through both; and unless I'm wrong, that is far longer than any car thief would want to spend on stealing a car.Knowing that, my car being stolen again is no longer a concern with both devices installed.As for the Shield itself:My steering wheel is exactly 14-1/2" in diameter, and the Shield fits a little bit loose, which means very easy to install, though I have to hold it in place with one hand while I prepare the Club and insert it into the first opening. It took a few tries to get used to, but became much easier and more efficient the more times i did.But how easy or difficult the process was of no concern to me, since I knew I wanted the peace of mind it would provide. Which in the end is why I give it 5 stars.Very solid product. Would definitely recommend for those looking for more cost-effective anti-theft vehicle protection.

Easy to put on standard Ford steering wheel that doesn't have a cover. If steering wheel has a cover, The Shield needs to be adjusted to fit. I figure it adds another 30 seconds to the thief's GTA attempt or makes him look elsewhere. Main drawback is that when you place it on the floor during driving it rattles. I wrapped it in a towel to subdue the noise as it can sound like a large tin can bouncing around.
