I wasn't thrilled with the cost of some plastic and a very short hose but some modifications later, it worked perfect.

Very affordable way to collect dust in my small workshop. Really does keep the vacuum filter from getting plugged up. One thing I noticed is that it fits very tightly on top of my Home Depot bucket, (and so it takes a lot of pulling to get off). Over time, I expext the flanges will loosen up a bit, and so it is perhaps a good thing that they are so tight at this point.

Worked well to pick up brass and aluminum chips in my shop. Also had some sawdust, grass, and general debris. Deposited all debris into the buckets with nothing getting into the shop vac chamber and kept the filter clean. Definitely need to build a cart/bucket holder though.

I love the separation of dust and oversized items. It works as advertised and helps keep your filter clean, and your shop vac is working great.

Downside- the bucket falls over if you move the hose around cleaning the shop.Upside, this thing collects sawdust, hair, fireplace ash, dirt, you name it. This turns a rigid shop vacuum into a cleaning machine! Demo a room, and all the dust and debris go in the bucket and not I to the vacuum filter- amazing!
