About this item

  • Delicate Bachelors Buttons (or Cornflowers) are versatile and easy to grow, attracting pollinators to vegetable and flower gardens.
  • Bold, Colorful Blooms - This mix blooms in a variety of purple, blue, white and pink hues.
  • Packet Contents - Each 3 Gram packet contains approximately 500 premium, open pollinated, non-GMO, flower seeds. (See photos on this page of packet and contents.)
  • Freshly Packed - These seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.
  • A Tasty Dash of Color - Add a dash of color! Bachelors Buttons flowers are edible. When dried, they can add a vibrant dash of color to tea blends and baking.
  • Great for Cut Flowers - Long lasting Bachelors Buttons were once worn in the lapels of courting gentlemen. Today they still look excellent in cut flower displays!
  • Flowers Your Way - Bachelors Buttons work well planted with other flower varieties in mixed wildflower gardens; or planted separately in more orderly, manicured gardens.
  • Premium Packaging - All seeds from The Old Farmer’s Almanac are packaged in individually styled packets ideal for gifts, storage or immediate use. Each packet displays the flower, vegetable, plant or herb variety on the front with instructions and plant facts on the back.

Bachelors Buttons perform best when broadcast directly in average, medium-dry, well-drained soil after the final spring frost. Tamp seeds lightly to ensure soil contact; and water new sprouts gently taking care not to over water. Once established Bachelors Buttons are drought resistant and require only minimal care. They will self-seed each year unless deadheaded after flowering. They prefer full sun; but may wilt if not given some shade during the hottest summer months.
