Super goofy way to attach this to the spring. Couldn't someone come up with a better design?

I am a pool professional, so this is an accurate review. Poor quality, The plastic cap did not seal and leaked so I had to use the old plastic cap and throw the new one away. U-shaped clip was too large for installation and needed to be bent. Still $50 less than the distributor price.Thermostat (regulator) worked as expected.
