I've heard reports the CPU bending issue in the LGA 1700 processors had been mostly fixed with the LGA 1851 socket. A couple of channels of YouTube showed how that was not entirely true, but the bend is greatly diminished compared to the old socket. Given the cost of a processor, buying this contact frame gives me a little more insurance I won't find a bend in my CPU down the road. Thermalright's price is hard to beat.

I couldn't say whether this product helps prevent any flexing or bending on an 1851 socket CPU, but the build quality is fantastic and the result looks great. I love that this presses down on the entire periphery of the CPU rather than just 2 tabs near the center like the original hold-down bracket. Installation was a breeze.
