It tracks temp accurately enough for our use, within a degree or so is fine.It is much smaller than I had envisioned, so need to be fairly close to read it, but does the job.

I really like this product. I have two - one for my bedroom and the other for my living room. It's accurate, easy to read. Just the right size to sit on a table, window sill, - where ever.

I was happy that it takes one triple A battery. Not fond of those small flat ones. Readings are accurate. Nice to have in the house during winter when rooms have different temperatures.

The thermometer works but the Hygrometer disagrees with my formerly trustworthy Oregon Scientific set of thermometers/hygrometers that I thought had been pretty reliable for years. I wanted an accurate hygrometer for my workplace so I bought this one and compared the two before taking it to work. There is a disagreement of over 25% humidity. If my bedroom in dry Colorado was upwards of 55% humidity my hair would be frizzier than it is and there would be mold growing in the bathroom. There is not but after buying four more brands of highly rated hygrometers for comparison it would seem that the OS device has lost its accuracy. Thus my rating and opinion of this device has been upgraded.

I bought this unit for a spare room I am converting to an informal wine cellar and it works great for that. Most of all I love the price! Way less expensive than many other units out there and this one is as accurate as I can tell from my basic testing. I brought two other thermometer units to the same room and they read the same as this one. Unfortunately I do not have the ability to test the accuracy of the humidity reading, but it does vary with the humidity from summer to winter in our home.It stands on its own, is unobtrusive, and you don't really notice it, which is fine with me.I really like this unit and I LOVE its price point! My last tidbit of advice -- buy this and don't waste any of your hard earned money on those higher priced pieces!

UPDATE: I originally purchased this item 12/8/2014. It was sold by Amazon LLC. I liked it and still do. I just came back to purchase another. NOT doing that. It now costs THREE times as much. And still sold by Amazon LLC. Not worth it at the current price. Look elsewhere. Sadly, I've noticed that Amazon has done a HUGE price hike on several other items as well, doubling and tripling prices, sometimes in just a matter of 2 or 3 months time. Times must be hard. Now my original review:Far as I can tell, it is fairly accurate. Matches the temp on the thermometer on my AC remote. Small, takes up very little room on a table or shelf. Has a good base, won't fall over. Easy to move around from room to room, unlike a wall thermometer. Large numbers for its small size. I can read it from across the room. There are three buttons on the back that toggle various numbers from minimum to maximum. For example, my maximum temperature is 100°, when it was in the garage on a very hot day. The low is 50° last winter when my thermostat wasn't working. Toggles are for temp, humidity, and Celsius vs Fahrenheit. A fourth button is marked Clear. Guessing that clears the statistics. Haven't used it yet.

A nice form-factor with an easy-to-read display, but slow and inaccurate on the humidity readout. It also lacks a backlight and can't be wall-mounted.Like some other reviewers here, I found the temperature setting was accurate (within 1-2F), and quick to adjust when tested adjacent to other thermometers. But as the name states, this is primarily a hygrometer-- and it was slow/inaccurate on the humidity.Placed near another humidity meter, it would sometimes match the other unit, and other times be dramatically off (7-10%). I determined that this Bios unit is very slow to update, by placing it on a natural-gas-heated forced-air vent then moving it next to a running humdifier and watching how long it took to adjust (versus the other meter). It took a long time to adjust, many minutes, sometimes an hour or more.Other than when placed directly on the forced air vent, this hygrometer also seemed inaccurate for humidity below 30%-- and below 30% is actually common in winter here in the mid-atlantic, as well as in the desert states year-around.The problem seems to be airflow into the back vents (and thus over the unit's sensors). When I tried blowing into those vents, the humidity reading spiked in just a few seconds. I suspect the problem is just poor air-sampling design. Somebody else here reported drilling extra holes in the plastic housing to improve accuracy, and that seems plausible-- but I'm more inclined to return the unit than to modify it.A backlight would be handy, since the display is hard to read in low-light (and even more so if viewed at an angle). A one-touch button to light the display would preserve battery life while making it so I don't have to turn a light on, or crouch every time I checked the display. It would also be easier to read if the unit was wall-mountable. The angled back means you can't wall-mount this unit, and even if you could, it would impede the airflow into the rear vents. After much reading of reviews on amazon, I had picked this unit was the best hygrometer under $15, so I'm disappointed. I'll be trying a more expensive model next.So this hygrometer is useful only for an approximate measure of humidity in an area where things don't change rapidly (ie, not near forced air returns, or humidifiers, or outside doorways, or...) and precision isn't important. Unless you need that general a measure, this is Not recommended.

This is a pretty simple product and seems to do an excellent job and is very accurate. I have one for the bedroom and living room, as we live in GA humidity is a big problem for us in the summer spring and summer, and we have to run humidifiers in the winter, so this helps us keep the house just right. As we have found out too much humidity can cause mold. This was nothing fancy, price we right and does an excellent job, I would recommend this product.
