Great product, but the upper section at the bend of the tube was long of vent, which restricted me from lowering the seat for safe riding. Otherwise it's a top-of-the-line seatpost I wish it would have worked for me.

My touring bike wasn't fitting quite right and I had already pushed my saddle as far back as it could go, so my choices were longer stem or setback seat post. Longer stem wouldn't help my knees line up with pedal so I decided on Thompson set post even though the angle looks odd in photos. In real life, it looks fine and works great. My bike fits me perfectly now!

Light weight - as light as carbon and works better - not going to crack like my carbon.

Replaced a 3T Dorico pro seatpost with this one and I've been very happy with it. Looks elegant and Thomson is known for being extremely reliable. Important to note that the setback only actually gives 16mm of offset vs. most other setback posts which are 20 or 25.

I replaced the suspension seatpost on my hardtail with this as it was much more important to my overall comfort on the bike to have the added effective top tube length from moving the seat back and the ability to level the saddle than the suspension travel over bumps (who's not standing up when they ride the bumps anyway?)The suspension post did not provide the seat angle adjustments that this post provides in spades and that has made the biggest difference for me in terms of riding comfort. The thing is built like a tank and looks great on the bike too. If you're serious about quality products, buy it. The price will be forgotten quickly as you enjoy the long term benefits of a well-built product.

light and rigid as can be. love the adjustment mechanism too for tilt. These are kind of ubiquitous on higher end builds for mountain bikes these days, which is a great endorsement. If Yeti, Santa Cruz, and Niner, etc, are including these on XT build kits and XTR, that's pretty much a ringing endorsement.I'm a clydesdale and haven't noticed any flex

Every positive thing you've read about Thomson seatposts is true in my experience. I've ridden a Thomson Elite straight seatpost for 3 years, which I recently replaced with the setback model only because I wanted the clamp to grip more centrally to the saddle rails than the straight seatpost allowed. I don't have enough experience with seatposts to say definitively that Thomson is the best, but I certainly won't hesitate to buy another for my next bike.
