Dowels seem to be as good or better than what is available at Home Depot or Lowes. There round and straight grained fairly hard wood. These are hardwood not Pine or Fir. There bundled very well and all seem to be fairly straight. For what it worth their about .020" undersized I live in the South East part of Louisiana so expect them to normalize to standard size due to the high humidity we have. The price is right and these will work very well for my purposes. I'll be purchasing more from them
