I put two of these on the back of our Toyota van. With the hatch closed and the handle part on the inside of the van I had two secure attachments for when I hoist my canoe on top of the van in the spring. This is a simple, but useful, product.

The plastic part got damaged easily as it was crushed by the hood.

These loop tie down straps have several uses, and come in handy. I'm actually using them on a trailer to quickly connect a ratchet strap to an anchor point. They are holding up well, and seem of good quality material

I really want to like these because the handles are awesome and the S clip carabiner is super thick and secure…. But they are TOO thick… the carabiner would not fit into the holes of any of my kayaks for the pulls. The only thing I could get it to fit was our Indian river canoe. The only way to make it fit would be to drill the holes in the kayaks bigger, but that would compromise the integrity of the kayak, and I won’t be doing that. This is probably a personal problem, I’m sure there are plenty of kayaks out there with bigger holes forTheir pull cords, so just check the diameter of this product against your personal vessel.Other than that, they are amazing pulls. The handles are super easy to grip and the carabinersAre incredibly secure and heavy duty. They worked well on our canoe lol I just really wanted them for my kayak.I would recommend this product, but with caution. Be sure to check the dimensions of the carabiner against your vessel. Or be prepared to add a separate carabiner to your kayak to attach this pull to.

I've always wanted a set if these, ever since I've seen a buddy of mine using them. Very handy for when I'm loading a single kayak and don't want to bother with a trailer or when a trailer hookup isn't possible. The straps feel sturdy. I don't foresee there being any issues with holding down a canoe or kayak, though I admit that I haven't used them yet. Their function is simple, yet effective, and they are small enough that they can stowe away without any trouble. A nice value for the money, and much cheaper than installing a hitch!

These straps are well made and have a spring loaded clip on the hook end, which helps keep it from falling out when loosened. The hooks are also coated with a rubbery material so they don't scratch the paint. Overall, sturdy and well made, and provide an anchor point to tie down to when there wouldn't otherwise be anything to tie down to.

I already have the straps that can go in the windows, under the hood, in the trunk, but mine do not have hooks like these. This saves a lot of time tying. I will be honest and say that I have not used them to take the kayak out. It's a bit chilly. Just based on my use of the others, having a hook just simplifies a tie-down.I don't think I would bet the security on the actual hook clip, but it's nice to have. It seems secure, but until I've used it 20 times, I wouldn't rely solely on the clip part. In the photos for the product, one use they showed in a photo was using it to carry your kayak! I have the super short handles and they can be a little squirrelly. Longer may not be better, but I'm excited to try them out in the spring. These straps with a hook can be used for so many non-aquatic needs around the house. The tubes can go over a door frame to provide hanging hooks, and the same with using them in the window of a car for hanging things inside. With as useful as they will be for me, I recommend them for any sort of roof tie-down or the many other ways to use it to tie-down.
