This performs really well for small gardens. For the most part it did great with tilling the ground and cutting through the weeds. It did have some difficulty with the taller weeds with them wrapping around the blades and stalling it out. It comes with two batteries and is rechargeable. It is lightweight at 11 lbs. It is easy to use and works great for small gardens. I'll just mow the area before tilling and it will be no problem cutting through the soil.

I have a raised bed that was an overgrown mess of weeds when we bought our house 3.5 years ago, and I had been searching for a way to get it cleaned out without having to rent heavy equipment that would be impossible to get up our steep back yard. I didn’t have high expectations for a battery operated tiller, but after a quick weed whipping session I was able to quickly and easily till up the bed with this handy dandy piece of equipment. I did have to pull the blades off several times to unwind the weeds & roots that got wrapped around the blades but it was fast and easy to do and I had the entire bed cleaned up in no time. It’s surprisingly effective for how lightweight it is, and the baffle/guard on the bottom kept any hidden rocks from kicking back at me

I have only ever used gas powered tillers, so wasn't sure what to expect from a battery powered one. I am very happy with it after a trial run in our weedy raised bed. It has plenty of power to dig down into the soil, and managed to overwhelm a lot of weeds and grass at the same time (not the intended use, but it works). It's about the same price as a small gas tiller, but not as noisy or messy.It was easy to assemble. The top, shaft and cutting end come in three pieces that thread together and are held in place with two plastic threaded cuffs. You need to get the pins align for the electrical connection top to bottom. The cutting tines are held onto the rotating shafts with a pin and a ring that flips over the shaft to prevent it from backing out. I wish the locking was a bit more positive - it lays over the top of the shaft but is not locked in place (see photo). The shaft does not rotate too fast (360 rpm max), so it won't come flying off. One of the pins was a pretty snug fit, so it took a couple of bangs on the end to get it fully engaged. It comes with two batteries, and both were fully charged on receipt. It was about 15 minutes from unpacking to first use.During operation you hold it at the top with one hand, pulling a trigger handle while depressing a safety switch, and a lower handle like you would find on a weed whacker or blower. It does not feel heavy when you are using it (11 lbs), but for long tedious tilling jobs, two handles and rear wheels would be easier, as you find with gas and some electric tillers. A neck strap would also be a nice addition. This electric tiller is perfect for smaller jobs. It is held off the ground by a curved plastic frame. All in all, very happy with this tiller. I think it will make quick work of the garden beds.
