I've bought a few "Dewalt battery" tools that are obviously knock offs. This one is one of the good ones. Surprisingly powerfull, and better quality than I expected. Still not quite up to the expensive Dewalt tools quality but much closer than other knock offs have. If you have a small/medium tilling job, this tool will not disappoint.

PLUSSES: Easy, no-tool assembly, light weight, secondary handle adjustable, uses batteries that are readily available. And, of course, you don’t have to deal with a small engine and all the headaches that implies.MINUSES: It’s pretty puny for garden work. That said, I wasn’t expecting much power from 20V batteries. To get the most out of this tool, use mainly on damp (not wet) soil with few/no deep-rooted plants. This is not for sod-busting; it’s for cultivating a seed bed prior to sowing. You’d do just as well with a hoe if you intend to dig a trench for transplanting; but if you plan to broadcast seed on bare soil, particularly in a raised bed, this should do nicely.

Light weight though powerful motor. It cuts about 6" to 8" per pass it also digs up rocks up to 8" square. I am a strong 68 year old and use it with one arm. I have had other battery powered lawn and garden tools, some of which were inferior and largely failed in electronics and motor. This piece of equipment is, surprisingly, much higher in quality and reliability. Yes.

Worked very well for one month (six small plots), then suddenly died. I've changed the batteries, and completely changed everything (including the safety button), but the device is dead. It simply will not start. It did perform well for the first month -- six (8' x8') plots.
