I bought this to install in a 1995 Mariah with an Alph1 outdrive when the motor for the hydraulic trim went out. This was an easy replacement and was a direct swap with no reworking of anything needed. The change out took about 45 minutes and was easily done with just a couple wrenches. I did not use the provided positive and negative leads but instead decided to use the ones already in the boat.

Fit perfect in my 2100 Maxum SR with Mercruuser Alpa I Gen 2 outdrive. I purchased a stainless bracket separately and changed it out with ease. I only wish this pump came with the option of a stainless bracket.

Replaced an old Prestolite pump as part of a Merc 898 Sterndrive. Was a little worried at first but then saw the two fitting could be interchanged with two fitting included in the package. The two other fittings were flare style like my old Merc fittings. Plenty of extra wire. Easy to install and works better than the old pump ever did.

great replacement pump! used this on a 1980 sea ray 26'. had to swap the fittings to the 3/16 flare that were in the box but was easy and it went right on the quicksilver out drive and works perfect. i used a 60" piece of 3/16 brake line and a flair to flair fitting to bypass the reverse lock where this pump has one internal. my reverse lock was leaking or id just left it there and not needed the brake line. pump has plenty of power moves fast and smooth.

After trying to replace the actuators on my old pump and that not fixing it, I decided to buy this complete unit to save time and work and that way everything would be new. The only thing I changed and would have liked to see as an option was the bracket. After seeing that my old bracket was somewhat rusted I decided to go with a stainless steel one. The swap from the provided steel to the stainless steel was quick and simple. I kept my rating at 5 stars despite this because obviously the price would be higher, again just wish this would be an option. The pump itself works great, I like that it is pretty quiet but still loud enough where I can hear it from under the sun deck to know it is working without having to just look at the indicator.Installation was simple, bolt it down, connect the connections. You just fill the reserve tank up, then put the trim up and down and refill the reserve tank and repeat until the reserve tank stays at the proper level.Works great on my Crownline

The trim pump in my 2001 Regal I/O failed last season. I ordered this pump assembly in July 2014 and it arrived well packaged in two days with Amazon Prime. The assembly was obviously new (e.g., not rebuilt) and the quality was good, very solid. The mounting space in my Regal was tight, and there was a bit of contortion involved, but I really didn't have any problems getting the old assembly out. Rather than running the two new power cables that come with the pump I decided to simply re-use the original old cables which only had a bit of corrosion which I cleaned off with some a small file. The new pump assembly bracket had a lightly different mounting bracket foot-print, so I had to drill two small holes in the fiberglass shelf on which the pump is mounted. The electrical hookup was simply connecting the old hot and neutral power lines to the screw terminals on the new pump and then plugging in the 3 pin plug for the control line from the helm. I sprayed some anti-corrosion spay for electrical connections in the socket and on the screw terminals. The pumped worked great the first time.Total repair time was bout 60 minutes for me. But most of that time was spent walking back and forth from my pier to the workshop for the tools I needed. No special tools were needed... screwdrivers, wrench or socket set, and pliers. I also needed a drill for a couple of holes for the mounting bracket.I have two suggestions if you're going to tackle this relatively easy job yourself.. First, though you can buy just the pump (rather than the full assembly) you will save your self a ton of time (and I suspect frustration) if you buy the whole assembly. And second, be sure you have a bottle new out-drive hydraulic fluid on hand before you start the job. You'll need about 6 to 8 ounces to refill the reservoir in the new pump.

I was surprised at how easy it is to put in a new tilt trim. I bought my first boat and the person I bought it from said you couldn't lower the outboard up and down. They had said it would be a quick 600 dollar fix. Investigating the problem I found there was no Tilt Trim motor at all! So I bought this one since it matched the same mounting as I found the empty one in the boat. I plugged up the hoses, put tilt trim fluid in, and connected back the battery connections. To my surprise it lowered without me pushing a button! I had to jack up the back end to make it so my lower unit didn't get beat up on the concrete below. after it got as low as it could go it stopped. I then brought it all the way up as high as it would go. I repeated this a bunch of times. After putting more fluid in I haven't looked back.Great product. somewhat noisy....but works great. maybe put some anti-noise foam in plastic wrap around it or something if you are concerned about the noise. Mine came shipped with a broken 20 Amp fuse. It was a pain to remove from the sockets...but radio shack hooked me up with a bunch. Also a suggestion is to put it close to the battery... the cables are a little short if I where to place it on the other side of the inboard/outboard engine.a so called 600 dollar fix turned into 300!
