Easy to follow instructions - drill > bore > tap > insert. I would 100% give this a shot before replacing the oil pan. I used a vacuum to get the metal shavings out the pan and flushed with oil.

Used this on my 2014 Silverado for my oil pan plug. I had no difficulties with this kit. Doing everything on my truck had its own challenges. If I ever need to rethread my plug again I will be using one of these kits again.

Get this before you order an oil pan for your vehicle; Save your self hundreds of dollars in labor and parts.Make sure you are qualified to do this type of machine work; there are good videos on YouTube, but better tohave experienced person to install this thread insert kit. It will be better than factory part when installed correctly.

The product was easy to use but you may have to create room to use it. It was cheaper than replacing the oil pan.

Step 1 in the instructions should be “compare what we sent you to the size of your drain plug.” Turns out you may or may not need longer Time-Serts than the ones in this kit, even when the "M12x1.75" is the correct set of boring/threading tools for your vehicle. Because I’m a stupid noob, I didn’t realize this until after I installed (w loctite red). Trying to extract the timesert failed and mangled the inner threads of the Time-Sert. I guess I'll try drilling it out. On the flip-side, installation was not terribly difficult even in cramped space, poor lighting, and with a tap wrench made from two nuts on a long bolt.

Time serts are great. Very easy to use, and great results.Just make sure you have a 1/2" power drill to fit the drill bit into as I could not fit the bit into a 1/2" tap wrench.
