None of the surfaces you would square the label up against are themselves square. As a result you can not possibly lay the label out evenly to be applied accurately to a round container. It takes a remarkable amount of time to arrive at an outcome I would have gotten to by simply applying it by hand.

I never even knew this type of product existed but I'm glad it does! I was a little skeptical based on some of the reviews but this worked great for me! I have been very frustrated wasting so many labels because I couldn't get them straight and was tearing them after trying to reapply several times. This is a game changer for me. It arrived in excellent condition, very heavy durable metal, doesn't slip around, and very easy step-by-step assembly with the instructions (comes with a small tool). I thought it was very easy to use once you adjust the calibration screw at the top to where you want the label to be positioned on the bottle or jar. Has the capacity to label small bottles and jars to very large containers. In the picture I used an 8oz jar so you can see how I lined up the label, put the jar in place underneath the label, pressed the label to the jar and lifted the jar off the metal ledge and finish wrapping the label around the rest of the jar. I would definitely recommend this label applicator to save you time, money, and many headaches, lol. Seller ships fast and is great to work with and very responsive.

The idea is a good one and the device is well made but it's just not a good solution for any number of reasons. We found that we're just better off doing them by hand than to try and use this device. Maybe it'll work better for others but for us (and we have lots of plastic and glass bottles that require labels) it's a no go. Looks like I'm just going to have pony up the dough and invest in a actual auto-labeler. Lesson learned.

I knew I had to make 72 holiday candles in 8 oz canning jars for my wife's work Christmas gifts and figured I would try to find something to make the labeling a little more even, if not easier. I saw a few videos on similar devices online and figured I would give this a chance. The device works exactly as advertised, but I found after about 20 labels that it was taking so long to evenly "load" the label on the bench, that it was just easier for me to do them my "regular" way - setting the jars is an old Baguette baking pan so they don't roll around and then just standing over them eyeballing an even application. Part of the problem was that I used woodwicks so centering the label precisely with the wide side of the wick in the center was difficult.I did like the results I got once I figured it out, though - I'm going to continue to try with this one and use it with my larger 12 oz jars or with cotton wick candles, where centering will go a little smoother.
